Hi I’ve been away for quite a while, I’m taking 0.25mg of propecia every few days (as it’s tough to get peopecia in UK and I don’t have big finances) and I noticed when I cut my hair very short that my hair looks thinner on top can see scalp on parts (or when cutting hair very short like number 2-3 on top are you meant to see scalp in light?)
I also use folligen for blondes once a week.
My main question is as I haven’t looked on the forums for years is are there any new breakthroughs or treatments for hairloss?
Or is finesteride still the only way of really stopping it?
Also does anyone know if there’s a way to get finesteride in UK without prescription?
Many thanks.

Inhousepharmacy.vu is a great site. .25mg/every couple of days is too low. The minimum should be that amount per day.

That’s too low? Maybe why I’m thinning a bit as I took more before, should I go to 0.25 everyday then would that be enough?

I just typed .25/mg is the lowest amt. It is around 80% as effective as 1mg/day. .25mg/every couple of days is probably 20% as effective.

A lot of sites ask for prescription and charge overseas delivery then even have to pay extra when the package comes to the door.
Any answers to the other things I said? Anyone?
All day chemist and premium rx drugs seem legit and cheap. Also you'll need minoxidil to regrow and get thickening up. I was on finasteride for two years and saw little improvement. Since starting minoxidil my hair is thickening up. Also add some good shampoos with some ketoconazole in there. Regenepure revita and revivogen are highly recommended. I use foligain shampoo and nizoral once a week.

I get mine through Boots. They make you fill out a form and you must be registered with a GP, but no prescription is necessary.

Dr Fox is cheapest U.K. based one. Boots and Superdrug are a rip off.

I ordered from Dr fox and got propecia rather than generics.

In fact I don't think it even let me request generics. Was a long time ago mind

I ordered recently and got the generics, they're way cheaper than the merk brand. Where do you buy them from now if you're still on it? is it cheaper?

Unless you’re on a tight budget why bother with generics? It’s a big enough decision starting finasteride, might as well be sure you’re getting the real thing.

I am on a tight budget and what’s the difference with generics? They do the exact same job right?

Is there any new breakthrough treatments or is propecia still the only one to really fight male pattern baldness?

It's not tough to get Propecia, or any prescription drug in the UK lol. I went to a derm about my hair loss in the UK and he handed me a prescription for a 6 month supply of propecia for FREE. I even get 5mg tablets of Valium for free every month. You could also get generic propecia ( finasteride ) for much, much cheaper. I'm currently unemployed and I can afford generic finasteride + additional treatments.
