BCP(YASMIN) QUESTION

Hi.
Just want some thoughts.
I am on spironolactone (25mg); minoxidil 5%; and nizoral. I've been on spironolactone around 3 months now. Am starting to see a thickening of the hair. I actually went a day without couvre and did not have to run and hide from mirrors.
So the derm suggested I also go on Yasmin when I first started spironolactone but I have been waffling. If what I'm using is working do you think that I should add the Yasmin? I've heard good AND bad regarding bcps though Yasmin is supposed to have anti-androgen properties.
Decisions, decisions :?

i'm on yasmin

first congratulations on your success!!
i'm on yasmin and i haven't had too many problems with it, although it may have contributed to my migraines. i believe we all should carefully consider going on any medication that is not medically neccesary. there's no way to tell how you'll react to yasmin, but its probably true that you are likely to have a bad shed from going off of it. my advice is to be as conservative as possible regarding elective medicines for the time being. especially as you are having success with your current medication. but, obviously only you can decide. best of luck!

I was leaning toward not doing it b/c I am reluctant to add more medicines if it's not necessary.
Thanks much for your reply :)

Hi. I'm new to this site, so I hope I'm not breaking the site etiquette replying to you before I've properly introduced myself, but I just wanted to say that my Trichologist said that Yasmin wont do any damage but Diane 35 would be better for hair regrowth.
I've only just started to take it, so I can't give any feedback. Perhaps you can discuss Diane 35 with your specialist... ?
I hope this helps..

Hello everyone, I was just wondering what kind of hairloss you are experiencing??? Is the Diane good for Androgenetic Alopecia??? I'm staying off meds right now as I'm trying to get pregnant... but the minute I'm done popping the kid out , I'm starting on meds....
