Ashley & Martin hair treatment - 7% Minoxidil?

Does anybody here know anything about the Australian company Ashley & Martin? Apparently they have been around for 40 years and have helped over 350000 customers to get their hair back. Having trouble finding anything about them on the internet though.

Anyway, I booked a free consultation with them a while ago. A 'RealHAIR Specialist’ welcomed me politely and told me about their patented method of treatment + a 100% money back guarantee if my hair hadn't started to grow back after 8 months. He couldn't give me any fact sheets or anything about their medications but he assured me it was all approved by some AU department. He also showed me lots of before-and-after pictures of their clients, which actually looked authentic and like they've had their hair back.

He wanted me to pay $3400 AUD (about $2500 USD) up-front right there so we could start treatment immidetely. When I refused he got fairly aggressive and wondered what was wrong with me, continuing trying to convince me for about 20 minutes.

Anyway. Is their treatment any good? Anyone that have tried them?

They offer (quote from another site):
* ‘Hi-Frequency’ stimulator sessions once/twice weekly for six/eight months
* Six month supply of Minoxidil 7%
* Six month supply of Finesteride oral medication or Saw Palmetto herbal supplements

Propecia is also included in it all.

Does it sound like a good deal you think?
Or is it just another scam?

As a fellow Australia I have to warn you as it is a scam
my dermatologist said the same company has started up 5 times and every time going bankrupt and simply changing the name of the company.

I just read a story the other day about some1 who went to them and they had him put chemicals on his scalp to remove several layers of skin which was very bad for his scalp/

He payed over 3000 bux for it when he could of simply followed the big 3 5% minoxidal, propecia and Nizoral for alot cheaper.

I am searching for the story right now and post it here.

BTW the Advanced Hair Studio is a scam as well.

That would be great fun to read, post the article if you find it.

But I guess I wont accept the A&M offer then. I was SUPER close to go back to them and pay the money so we could get started, I even took out $3500 in cash from the ATM.

I'm still having a bit of trouble accepting it being a total scam though. I mean, how can they straight up lie to you? Is it all fake? The pictures, the patents, the company history of 40 years, the happy clients walking around in the office? It can't all be fake. can it... Unbelievable.

cheers

the above post just proves how dodgy A&M are you could buy a years supply of proscar, with dr lees xandrox 5% and 15% for about 1/4 of that these guys sell it for

also 5% minoxidil + retin A does not have a 95% chance of regrowing hair
thats just compleate bull.

I have been to clive clinics and they are con men they tryed to sell me something call takeanal for my hairloss sounds like a gay lube
so if these guys are part of clive clinics they are just as dodgy

What is $140 AD - about $100 USD? Once you throw in the laser treatments thats not a bad deal, but that initial payment is absurd. I guess he has to make money somehow. I mean he isnt researching new cures or developing new drugs, he is just reselling known treatments at a markup - so he needs those high pressure salesmen to make money.

Are you kidding? Its a total rip off.

You could buy several years supply of finasteride and Min and a LaserComb for $1,000. For $3500 you could be on these treatments for over a decade.

Give me a week to read all the long posts and ill post my thoughts. I trust Flux and everyone else's assessment thus far though, and I would like a direct response from the person who works for the company how they can justify overcharging people for readily available well known cheap treatments like this.

Re: are you a dermatologist

bonric said:
Im sorry that you believe that a company which spent the money on the R & D to create a minoxidil that works better and proved this by hair count studies performed by dermatogolists at the University of New South Wales, and that clients have to see a Medical Doctor to proceed with treatment, and which is owned by doctors that you would still call this dodgey.
What they're calling dodgy isn't your clinical data. Its related to the cost.

bonric said:
I would call sticking 15% minoxidil into a gel and hoping that people shave their heads so that the stuff can actually get onto the scalp and then hope that it penertrates the skin into the hair root without doing any double blind studies on it results is dodgey.
If it lacks the necessary clinical data, I agree with you.

bonric said:
As for the costings of our treatment I believe that $140.00 per month for 7%minoxidil + .01% retinoic acid, Finasteride, Saw Palmetto (320 mg) and having the option of coming in for free laser every fortnight an absolute bargain.
First off, Saw Palmetto does nothing for hair loss. You seem to value clinical data so I encourage you to find a single reputable study showing SP helps hair loss. This ingredient is unnecessary.

Minoxidil in 5% form can be had for $12 per month from Costco.

Finasteride 1mg daily for 30 days can be had for $52 at full price US made Propecia, and for only $12 if you get proscar and split the tabs into 5.

That's $24 USD a month.

My understanding is you also charge roughly $2,000 USD for a consultation fee and setup.

I appreciate that you've done studies on your 7% minoxidil. Assuming they've been published in reputable dermatological journals (This is a big assumption, have they? American academy of dermatology?) then this is a valuable addition that products like Xandrox do not have. You're right.

But... your pricing is not competitive, and the consultation setup fee is outlandish.

Thoughts?
