I do it while it is on. And yes, it will stain the base

No. With Back2natural I haven't stained the base.

With another one it happened though, but if I had used less, then probably not.

The best way to do this without staining the base is off your head.

Apply the B2N on the comb teeth and then comb it through the hair...this will avoid staining and it will be applied uniformly.
