Same here - Always been at least a NW2 and it was very fine and thin, but even so its much better than being bald.

I remember hating those ´baby hairs´ as I called them thair gave me an ugly low hairline at my temples.

When they started disappearing, I was glad and thought nice they´re finally gone.

Little did I know that this was the beginning of the dreadful hairloss that I only noticed years afterward.

My hair was always thin and fine as well. When I hit puberty it got super greasy also. I was paranoid that I was going bald from age 13. (and I probably was)

Guys, you're lucky in a sense.

Imagine having amazingly thick hair all your life and then in the space of a year the hair quality decreaseing dramaticaly. People who know you kinda wonder what happened to your hair. it's depressing.

I had very thick hair everywhere except the front.

Still plagues me to this day, although now it is compounded by the fact that I am receding.

When I look at old yearbook pictures of me and my friends in elementary school, we all had a fringe down to our eyebrows basically. Everyone's fringe was very thick and uniform, all the way across the forehead (think Beatles). But mine was sparse and had gaps in it.

I think if my fringe had started out thicker like everyone else's I would be in much better shape for the next few years.

My hair was extremely thick before I started losing it and even remained thick when I was receding at the temples. I remember hairdressers remarking on how thick it was. I made nothing of it at the time; I had no idea I would start losing it before I'd even turned 18. I suppose I did get to experience hair from an earlier age than most people though. I was born with a full head of hair.

I've always had a kinda strange hairline, higher than most. But these past couple years have been getting ridiculous, particularly at the front, thinning alot more. I've always loved having a full head of hair, long and stylish. Though i'm still only 18, I'm so stoked to be bald in the near future at a young age *sarcasm*

Yeah, same here. I've always had very fine hair and a big forehead. I used to have long hair and it looked really messy. Now that I'm loosing it, my hair actually looks better because I get it cut regularly.

my hair was insanely thick and frizzy. people always thought i got a perm. it was impossible to style it in a manner i wanted.

These were all taken before I had any recession. My frontal hair has always been crap. I could have styled it better, but back then I didn't know any better. Very sparse fringe as you can see.

The rest of my hair is thick however. I might end up a rare case of having better hair after getting a hair transplant than I did before I even started thinning.

Thick and thin, are you sure you didn't have any recession when those were taken? How old were you?

I was about 18/19 in those pics. 23 now. My hairline had maybe 1cm of recession on one side and none on the other. Now I'm rocking nearly 1 inch temples on both sides, so, as you can imagine, my fringe looks absolutely pathetic.

Thick and thin, I was wondering where you measured the one inch from to calculate your recession. Is it from the highest crease on your forehead as mature hairlines are measured or from the tip of the middle front of your hairline?

I never really hated or loved my hair really.

When I first got it shaved when I was like 14-15 I loved it then, when I had a full head of hair.

Other than recession, my main problem is that it gets greasy quite a lot. The obvious answer is to shampoo it regularly but I am a little hesitant about the possible negaitve side effects of regularly using shampoo with chemicals in it, might damage the roots/scalp..I really dont know..I guess twice a week or something isnt too bad..I probably need to wash with shampoo it every 2-3 days.

Its amazing how much better I feel/look when wash my hair and its not greasy but more fine and soft.

Well, the temples go back around 1 inch if you measured from the bottom of my forelock. I don't measure from forehead wrinkles or anything like that.
