I'm half Greek and my entire family on that side is Norwood 1 pretty much until death. I am surprised Zoupa. When I went their last time it seemed better than Anglo Saxon European nations. I think English/Scots/Irish/Nordic/Germans have it way worse.

And lol Fred, why do you always bring out cancer? I wasn't thinking that. I was thinking of things like neuro muscular problems, blindness, anything that effects many different systems of the body like SLE, missing limbs.

As I've said, 28% of my high school class is already nw4+ (most are age 28).

Only 2 people from my school year is Norwood 5 plus. We're now 30.

I have actually experienced rather severe health problems. I have a chronic health condition.

I mean, I would rather have diabetes than be bald. But I would rather be bald than have multiple sclerosis. I actually bumped into someone I used to know recently. He's a diffuse NW5-6 and was recently diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. Which do you think he's more worried about?

Cancer cannot be compared to hair loss or any other illness you have to 'deal with' because you don't deal with cancer. You either recover or not. It makes more sense to compare hair loss to illnesses that affect your quality of life, but don't kill you.

Yep. Only people who don't understand science bring up cancer. It's the big bogey in the media. As you say, you recover or not. It's quite straight forward.

It does make me extremely angry when anyone is having a problem that seems insignificant and gets condemned for expressing their situation. Like us male pattern baldness sufferers, we're supposed to just 'man up' to hair loss and not let it bother us, and we're also told that things could be worse, and then called vain.

Come on already! When does this "Things could be worse!" going to end? Here's and extreme example, what if a male soldier survives being part of a war and they lost one of their legs, and they're constantly complaining and moaning about it. Are 'normal' people eventually going to go as far as saying things like "Man up, some lost both legs!" to the man who lost one leg? We can never get a break from anything, I mean never.

I don't understand why you guys even want sympathy. I mean... no one can help you with it. Outside of giving you money for a transplant or something.

Me personally, I'm not the type who looks for sympathy from others, I'm the type that looks for solutions to problems. Even if the entire world were to suddenly start empathizing non-stop for us male hair loss sufferers, would that fix our problem? We may not feel as bad about it, but we'll still be stuck with our hair loss. That's why curing/treating hair loss adequately is the best solution.

I don't really want sympathy. I just expect society to have enough intelligence to realize that I, and all the other bald/balding men, did NOT actually CHOOSE this "look."
We did not wake up one morning and think.....

"Ya know...I have way too much hair. I think what would suit me better would be a style where my hair starts to really thin on top, but the sides remain nice and thick.
Yes! that's the look I want! Kinda like a crazy old scientist. Or even better: The look of a middle aged sex predator.
Yes, that will be my new look! Oh.. and I'd love a bit of temple recession thrown in too. Fook!! I'll be the coolest looking 21 year old in my town. Watch out ladies!!!"

I swear there are some really stupid people out there who actually believe we wanna look like this.
Again...I blame a lot of these bullshyt TV commercials that seem to have convinced the NW0's (oblivious) that treating hair loss is the same as treating a common cold.

Judging by some of the comments we see from bald guys here, a mask may not be needed.

yes it is, how else would you instill FEAR!

If you found out one day that you couldn't get any girls that were healthy weight and at least a 6/10, would you even bother improving?

Or would you just take the easy route, only making as much money as you need to, never going outside, etc.?

Just staying inside, never looking in the mirror, and never socializing (besides friends) have been working wonders for my happiness level. I don't give a care for trying to get that good job or whatever now that I'm no more than a 5/10 and would have to work very very hard just to get a girl thats even somewhat attractive.

TL;DR-if you can't get attractive girls then theres no point in busting your ***

Of course there is other reasons to "bust your ***" to eat, get money (to do things like hobbies, future holidays etc), or get healthy at gym or whatever.

I've had thoughts similar to this before.

Yes, obviously none of us here chose such a 'look' upon ourselves. It is ridiculous that so many non hair loss sufferers believe that we want to have such a look. Even though most people are aware that baldness is genetic, many also still believe that it's triggered by poor hygiene, wearing hats, unhealthy lifestyle, and from many other false possibilities; that also leads them to thinking that our baldness is our fault, hence why it's mocked so much and looked at as a 'joke' condition.

One thing that I'm so tired of which I've heard and read about countless times is this typical 'advise' from full-heads is the "Losing your hair? Shave it all off! Be confident! Go to the gym! Get buff! Get tan! Get huge!" nonsense. Even if a man who is suffering from male pattern baldness is to follow that advice, the very same ones who told him that will also be thinking and say "Wow, what a try hard! He must be doing all that to compensate for his hair loss!" eventually. You can go super far and become incredibly successful in life, but do you know what everyone will be able to see? Your bald/balding head, and that's what everyone cares the most about.

A perfect example? A Professional Golf Player named Jordan Spieth:

When will this ever end? :shakehead:

yea obviously you need to survive but i'm just talking about improving beyond that, just for the sake of improving. healthiness is the only directly beneficial thing that you should do even while ugly. it still makes you feel better and live longer and be happier.

You're right Agustin but there is some merit to what these guys say. First and foremost, treat and save as much hair as you can if you wish to. That's the key. But for various reasons some people end up pretty bald looking anyway. So now what? In this scenario you have to compensate to some extent. If you don't, most likely you will not look good unless you're naturally very good looking and masculine appearance. Plus things like working out a bit, dressing well, people with full hair do too. It just becomes more important if you have little hair. Naturally you don't want to over compensate crazily, but some measures will need to be taken.

I do agree when you say full heads give all that advice WITHOUT actually understanding male pattern baldness or what they are saying. Nevertheless, I feel it has some merit. The body should be treated as whole from head to toe, with full hair or not :)

I saw a shaved baldite going to a wedding a while ago at the train station, there was a group of them. I don't thing it was just that he was dressed smart but he had the facial features, body structure to pull it off.

It saddens me when I read this kind of stuff from young guys like you. I am not going to sugar coat things. It is going to be tough(not impossible) to get the women you are hoping to score at a young age. Most young(till late 20's) women don't care about much more than looks, but as women age they will expect you to bring more to the table than just a full head of hair. That is where the work you put in now will pay off. Sure it will suck not getting the women that you desire for the next few years, but while you have free time and are not distracted by women/relationships you can work on improving your situation. I know many around here will say it doesn't matter, but I would like to think that your value would go up relative to the amount of success you have in life. I am sure a 6/10 would be more likely to give a successful Exodus a chance over an Exodus that is living at home, smoking weed, masturbating, and playing video games all day.

Swingline has made the comment before about paying for sex. This is not a bad idea. Relationships can be a pain in the ***, not to mention expensive. Overall you will save money going to prostitutes and you can get all the nasty **** you want to do out of the way before you find the girl of your dreams.

So yes there definitely is a reason to improve your life. It will be tough, but try to keep your head up and your eyes on the prize. You will find the woman you want one day AND you are going to be a great dad........

to some full heads kids.

Suprised this thread keeps getting revived. I did check out for awhile after posting this. I was 24 and living with my parents beating off to p**rn all day.

One day I woke up and left the state and no longer live in Florida. I can't say baldness totally contributed to that but it did help.

Today I've slowly come to accept things. I get periodically depressed but quickly move on. I finished my BA and am now working on my second BA...a double major and I plan on going for an MA.

Hopefully those of you who are distressed bounce back from it. Sometimes I don't know how I did. I haven't gotten laid in a year and almost never get called attractive anymore but still I strive to find meaning in life and am hopeful for a cure

YAWN they will not be very desirable at that age AND its prolly not much more likely

AKA NOT WORTH IT

lol dont worry though. i'm not crazy sad anymore, i was starting to have panic attacks from the continuous self hate. its just a rational choice.

the point of success is access to attractive slim white women. but if i can't get them then no point in success.
an unstated premise in the former is decent attractiveness. if i don't have that anymore, then why care?

and lol at escorts. i care more for an actual relationship than a soulless wh*** grubbing for money. i could afford an escort now but i dont care for one. i'll prolly do it one day still for the experience

Kind of related to this topic since the thread had similar themes but does anyone know why the "Be honest" thread started a couple of days ago by Exodus got deleted? Had the topic been discussed too much or too recently before (e.g. this same thread)? Was the content too much off-topic? Did it violate a forum policy?
