Any good hair styling products? (diffuse thinners)

Anyway I would say I am an diffuse NW2/3, I don't think I ever want to use gel again as we all know how thinners look with their hair wet. My guess is I want to use something that doesn't make the hair greasy but it holds it in place. I would like to use Aveda's hair products but I just don't have the money to spend on it with bills. Anyway I have narrowed it down between

-American Crew Fiber, forming clay, forming cream
-Garnier Fructis Surf Hair Texturizing clay
-Paul Mitchell Tea Tree cream

any recommendations?

This is how I try to style my hair and works for me.

Gatsby styling clay + any maximum hold spray works for me. Just apply on the tip of your hair and use spray to hold.
