I've read a post here that Finasteride and Dutasteride work slightly differently at lowering DHT, and it was interpreted by a poster that because of that some people may respond to one drug and not the other.

Since I respond well to both I am not going to bother finding that post for you, but I thought you'd want a head's up about it. Perhaps Bryan could help you come up with a search phrase to help you find it.

The fact that you are shedding is not a definitive sign that treatments are not working.

It could very well be that the spironolactone has nothing to do with your current shedding.

You seem to have a tendency to really freak out over this, and so do I, but give it time man, you are on one hell of a super powerful regimen....I highly doubt that spironolactone and dutasteride are going to do nothing... you need to wait some months ( at least 6!) before you can begin to see any improvement.

Hang in there, let your treatments do their thing and try to focus on something else (nearly impossible I know).

finasteride and dutasteride work the same...however there are different types of 5arII....finasteride blocks most of them but not all....dutasteride blocks even more but still not all..there were a few genetypes where finasteride blocked 5arII but dutasteride didnt (in these people finasteride would be better obviously)...but it was a SMALL minority.....that was the gist of the study if i remember correctly.

In terms of scalp you only gain in taking oral spironolactone. But you wont see immediate results. You have to be patient.
I didnt see immediate results and sometimes i shed a lot. But i maintained and thickened up a little. So you will.

Is your hair more important that having kids in future? You don't need to ruin yourself, HM will be avaible in period of 10 years everyone can have chance to have full head of hair if he have extra money, better start saving some dollars from now. Plus i belive that there will be finally proven topical dht inhibitor on the market, but for now better use spironolactone cream or maybe give a try to RU.

yes my hair is far more important that having kids in the future,the only thing i want is a good head of hair and a fine looking women,which i could get tomorrow because i am a good looking guy but without hair i will not be good looking,having kids is something that has never intreasted me,they cost too much and to be honest i do not even like kids

Losing hair is horrible. Nobody likes seeing loads of hair in the comb or in the table while eating.
