I got some anthralin 1-percent ointment for my bald spot due to alopecia areata. When I got it, I thought, what the hell, and started applying it to my left temple, which has shown dramatic thinning.
Not only am I growing stubble on the patch caused by the areata, I am also growing it on my temple area. The hairs are very, very short and bristly and they're growing in pure white.
Kevin on keratin.com did say that, theoretically, anthralin could be used for Androgenetic Alopecia because (again theoretically) any irritant could help to grow hair. (Do a search on the word "anthralin.")
Don't know if if there's a direct link, but I'm going to continue to use it. I'll keep you posted.
