Another "What Type of Hairline Will I Have?" Topic (PIC)

Hi, I just joined up here, and I'm curious as to what type of hairline I may develop in the future.

A few details first...I am 22 years old, and my father started balding when he was around my age in the back/top of his head especially. Now, I'm not thinning AT ALL in the back/top of my head, but I am concerned about my temple area, though. I have always had a pretty big forehead even as a kid, and I am wondering if it's just that that I am seeing. I also notice that I don't get enough sleep quite often and that I need to eat more nutrional foods and take more vitamins, and that when I do get better rest and eat healthier as well as keep my hair moisturized, my hairline doesn't look bad and feels thicker. Here is a pic to give you an idea...I will try and post one from the other side soon:

any good input would be appreciated.

I guess I'm just asking if it looks like it is receding, or if it's just my natural hairline / big forehead is all.

You could become slick bald, or your hairline could stop right there where it's currently at. Hope for the latter. :)

Propecia dude, why worry when one pill a day can slow down hairloss greatly?

Looks to me like its receding.
I REALLY hope that's not the case, but like I said, my eating and sleeping habits could play a role as well. That, and school stress as of late. Gonna try changing some patterns just to see, because some days it looks better than others.

@ Jake - Only thing is that I was unfortunately diagnosed with high blood pressure as a teen due to doctors placing me on medications that I shouldn't have been on, and I don't know if Propecia would have adverse effects on that or not.

No no no no no...

Sorry dude...a hundred people come here a month hoping its that and it never is. If that was the case then every high school, college and grad student would be balding along with every doctor...law enforcement official...politician....etc.

My message won't phase you of course...nobody's will.

But the sooner you realize that (probably 6 months) the better.

Good luck.

Hahahaha..you make it sound as if I'm bald already or somethin'.

I know that everyone lacks in the sleep department at times, but I REALLY lack..like...an average of 3 hours per sleep NIGHTLY. Working on that.

Like you said, that may do NOTHING at all for my hair growth, but it can't make it any worse. Just going to try it and see before I completely give up.

why would you recommend him propecia???

hes not even balding we dont even know if hes receeding or not

most people on these forums all will tell you to go on the big 3 or on propecia regardless what you got dont listen to them and go to your doctor
HELL a bit of advice limit your self from coming to this forums cause it gets addicting and u get messed up mentally by reading all these hairloss stories just go out and live a good life without thinking about it and go to the docs

No...I'm not. But the process is starting. Did you come here for a opinion or just one that matches what you want to hear?

Of course...hah...everyone that denies it has specific reasons why they are exempt!

If that was truly the case you would simply have overall patchy loss and not standard run of the mill male pattern baldness.

But like I said...you have to realize this on your own eventually.

I came here for an opinion of course, but apparently yours isn't the majority as a couple have said it's uncertain right now. I'm not in denial, I'm just in wonder. ;)

The high forehead has been with me since I was a baby, so I'm looking more at the temples than that.

I will leave you with this. Again...loss from malnutrition and so forth is patchy and random. Not male pattern baldness like temple recession.

Good luck.

Meh...not an advocate of luck, but thanks.
Another thing I forgot to mention is that sometimes I pick/twiddle with my hairline as a habits of sorts every now and then. Gotta stop doing that as I feel that could be making my hair up front weaker as well.

Just one more thing....

Don't take any meds until you are certain of what you have. That goes for everything from propecia (hair loss drug) to steroids (that takes care of loss from malnutrition and other condition)

Your hair still looks great...whatever is going on you have loads of time.

if you were a white guy with that hairline, i would say its very difficult to tell if its recession or just the natural mature hairline.

but as a black guy, you have a different hairline to begin with. Majority, not all, but majority of black men have a hairline closer to a white females' hairline, straight all the way around.

So to be honest, your temples have receded, not the forehead, but the temples themselves no longer meet the hairline as in the pics above. Whether or not this is recent, i dont know but your going to have to be honest with yourself and really look at old pictures to see if your temples at one time met with your forelock. If they did, youve receded.

I'll have to find some old pics and look, but if it's any help, I was watching family videos from 2001 a few weeks back, and my mother commented that my hairline looked just the same back then as it does now.

Your hair line is fine...its that circular dent in your temples that points to male pattern baldness in every way. I have yet to ever see a reason for temple recession other than male pattern baldness.
