Ah, forgot to clarify...when I say "hairline", I'm including the temples as well. Common habit of mine. XD

So she thought it looked the same, temples and all.

just be honest with yourself. because denial can be harmful. Really look and analyze your hair from say when you were 15 or 16 years old. If that dent in the temples did not exist, theres no point in pretending your not receding because youre only hindering your own chances of recovering and maintaning what youve got.

Just found an old pic of mine to kind of compare. :

As you can see, I've always had a pretty honkin' forehead, but the temples don't look very well lined up with the hairline in this one, either. I don't really have any high school ones to compare with at the moment, but if it looked like that as a kid, that should be good enough indication , I suppose.

I'm not denying it, I just want to be sure before I completely come to a conclusion.

Your hairline looks fine to me and it doesn't look any different to what it was in your other picture. If you're not thinning either then I don't see any reason why you'd need to do anything. Also, I think you'd look fine with a buzzcut/shaved head anyway, so if you wanted to save money you could go for that approach (if you did see any hair loss).

hmmmmmm.....yeah I can see that dent a bit there.

Anyone in your family bald? FYI...doesn't matter where they come from...mom or dads side. Its a myth its from one or the other.

Would love to see a more current pic when you have the time.

My father is balding as I said, and my grandfather on my mother's side went bald as well. BUT...an uncle on my mom's side kept a full head of hair until his death (he was in his 50s or so IIRC), though.

Also, that pic I posted is fairly recent. Was from less than 3 months ago, but I'll try and post more soon.

ive always been envious of the fact that black guys can shave their heads completely whether or not their going bald and people would think its a style choice...whereas no matter how white guys on here pretend, every white male with a shaved-bald head did it because hes going bald and everyone knows it

Wouldn't necessarily say that....some black dudes have head shapes that don't look right shaved. I've seen some black guys with whose heads look like boulders after being shaved. XD

..not to mention wrinkled scalps and such as well.

it's hard to say if you are losing it

i've seen some african american guys who have a bigger dent in their temples than you and they are well in their mid to late 40s and have had that shape for a long time.

but the crappy thing is if you start thinking you MAY be losing...chances are something might be up.

i noticed some gradual thinnin of the temples in late college but denied that it was male pattern baldness. afterall, my dad had a full head of hair and so did my grandfathers! i just kept blaming sleep, diet, etc. then within a span of 4-5 months after I graduated, the hair just started coming out and the recession got worse until i had to accept it.

of course i went on treatment and reversed most of the loss :)

but yeah - keep a close eye, ppl say male pattern baldness is slow, but i feel like it's cyclical and can accelerate then slow down many times

I dont think you're losing your hair. But you don't look 22. Not by a long shot. I would of thought 35.

Then again maybe its just not a flattering pic.

I think your hair is fine. No receading nothing to worry about :)

Really? I've been told I look younger than 22. Hahahaha.

But I was EXTREMELY sleepy at the time I took that picture, so that might explain me looking older. That, and the sideburns probably make me look older. :p

Here's one of me and my bro just to give a better idea. Sweating due to it being mid-summer, but ah well. :p

To me just looks like the slight recession virtually all men get, balding or not.

I wouldn't be suprised if your hairline stayed like that for a long time to come. Look at Ashley Cole for example, his hair is more receeded than yours at the temples, and has remained that way for years without it going any further back. (he also has probably the hottest wife in Britain, and still gets laid elsewhere lol)

Well your photo is not loading now. May be it is deleted from the source. If you can post more pictures of your head then it would be easy to help you.
