Amsch needs some serious advice

Hi there!
Well, i've been suffering from bad hairloss for 2 years now (I'm 19). I started propecia last Oct. and used it for 4 1/2 months with good results (so i wouldn't say my hairloss isn't stoppable).

However, i quitted due to sides. I had some serious thyroid problems after quitting, but it's getting better.

I wanted to take the topical route, so after reading some reviews and studies i decided to try Revivogen. I'm using it for almost 5 months now and my hair is at it's worst state ever. Lifeless, VERY thin and kind of strawy. Don't know if shedding reduced, sometimes It seems to be, sometimes not. I'll finish my 6-month supply.

If my hair doesn't get better, i really don't know what to do. I heard some good things about Super Zix, but after searching the boards i found out that there aren't that many good reviews about it (or am i wrong?). I'm also interested in using the dermaroller/needling stuff.

What i'm searching for are some suggestions for a new regimen, max. 2 topicals if it's possible . I'm really desperate right now and hope to find some help here..

By the way, some data: 19 y. old, diffuse Norwood 2,5

hey buddy, im in a similar position to you. im 22, started losing my hair around the late 20's mark.

propecia im on 0.25 due to sides with more than that, ive experimented.

revivogen for around 9 months now, same as you - sometimes it feels like im not losing as much but then a few days later i shed like 40-50 hairs in the shower. by the end of the day my hair feels heaps thin when i run my fingers through it. ive lost my density on revivogen where in reality the idea of this product is maintenance, which it obviously hasn't done. got a little spot on the crown becoming noticeable, which revivogen shouldhave helped cover, if it was actually an effective product.

anyway, ive got no idea where to go next. i wanna shave and use rogaine foam but ive got a feeling i wont suit a shaved head. dont wanna grow it cause longer hair and a bald spot looks silly.

Proxiphen.. This is one of the alternatives i thought about. But not to sure either it can keep what i have by itself.

Zix or Proxiphen? Easy choice, Proxiphen. Why? NO alcohol. Made by a real doctor who has devoted his whole life to hair loss and pharmacology. Expensive? Yes but you always have to pay a high price to keep your hair. Zix is cheap but full of alcohol but I don't think putting alot of alcohol on the hair is a good idea. Amsch, just try Proxiphen otherwise your hair loss will possible just continue. Did you read Felk's story. That would convince me. What are you waiting for? Get back your hair already. :jump:

The owner of this site used Propecia and had to quit from sides, and was able to maintain what he had from propecia using a combination for revivogen + topical spironolactone. You might want to try that, tho I find spironolactone really fuckin' expensive.

Are you using Nizoral as well? Revivogen has no anti-inflammatory properties, so if you're taking the topical route you should definitely be using an anti-inflam shampoo too.

Well, yeah... The bad thing about proxiphen is, that theire have been many cases of increased shedding with no recovery as well .

Amsch, they did not recover because their balding gene was stronger than the meds. I doubt revivogen and zix are that much different to make drastic change for you. It may help more but maybe not. Proxiphen has helped people are over the world, they just don't post it on forums. The case where somebody had a lot of shedding as posted on baldingblog is someone I have talked to for a long time and he weened off minoxidil at the same time which I think might not be a good idea if you have already been on it for a long time. I don't remember if you use minoxidil. Anyway, I wish you luck on whatever you decide.
