Am I Thinning On Top Or It's Perfectly Normal?

I created a thread a few month ago asking which Norwood i was because i had a slow temple recession similar to my father. I'm 28 now. Today i decided to do a slick back hairstyle with gel and that line at the middle of the head made me worried. I don't know if it's started to recede on top or it's normal and i just need a tan since my head scalp is very pale. The last 2 pictures is my hair slicked back with gel. What you guys think?

Mine does the exact same thing. Think (and hope) it's because our hair is dead straight, fine, boring and lacks volume so doesn't react well to be pushed back in the opposite direction it grows in so the weight of it flops to each side.

Oh man i hope so. My family tells me it's perfectly normal but i'm already panicking. When my hair is dry i don't see any bald spots.

Ya, I mean it would be pretty weird to have a dead straight centre balding line lol. Is your hair really difficult to keep slicked back? As in you need to use a lot of product, like a pomade?

It is very hard to keep it slicked back. I need to use a lot of product.

Nobody here can tell you for sure. Your hair looks fine at the moment but that thinning on top could eventually spread and become a problem later. Be aware, any time your hair is wet/gelled it is going to look like your hair is more sparse. I would keep an eye on it and start treatment if you are noticing things are declining.

Thank you. Will keep an eye on it in the future.

What Norwood guys would you say my temples are and is it worth trying minoxidil on them?

Norwood 2,5 ≈ in my opinion.

I think you need to get on meds big time. Perhaps you can get down to nw2 if u're lucky. Are you on propecia right now or am I mistaken?

Right now I'm on biotin 10,000 lol. My father had receded temples also even when he was 60. I think I'm following his steps. Other than that he didn' have any problems with his hair. I'm not sure if its time to jump on meds yet since everything on top looks good. Here is my morning dry hair after shower:

I agree with Andy ,the recession on temples is obvious and it looks like after a while you will start diffusing so better start early.

Maybe a bit. Rogaine 5%.

My account was 2012 when I first started here. It was when I noticed Accutane induced hair loss. Definitely receded hair. I noticed my more pronounced in using Accutane.

Do you see hairs in the shower or on your pillow? I think you may be maturing but, use Rogaine. Worst case scenario, buzz or shave your head.

Yeah i see a few hair in the shower and on my pillow but not a lot. My vertex seems good. I have thick hair but temples i believe slowly receded from 2.0 to 2.5 from when i was 23 to now 28.

Yeah that's why i'm scared a little. Right now my temples can be easily hidden but i heard finasteride can make your hairline much worse.
Its not as bad as what dutasteride can do. Its unlikely to hurt your hair but it is important to know its a possibility. What I think will happen is you will either slow down your loss or maintain.

Don't risk waiting , you might start receding badly one day.

I'm also scared of taking finasteride btw. The fact that some people lose more hair on it scares the sh*t out of me. Prior to a few members, I never taught it was possible :(

Yeah temporary shedding is fine but i read many stories where finasteride messed up people's hairline permanently and once they stopped taking it, it did not return to pre med condition. I don't know if it's coincidence or not.
