Hi. I’m 14 years old and am worried that I’m going bald at such a young age. Both sides of my parents have suffered from hair loss. I have a decent diet and no stress. If I am going bald, is there a way I can prevent it or slow it down? Also, what products should I use and natural and or medication?

One of the temples is being ravaged this is definitely hair loss. For some people on this forum unless you are Norwood 3+ or diffuse thinning you have no hairloss ignore the guy above.

You want to maintain ideally Norwood 1-2 atleast till your 40ish so get on minoxidil and nizoral and I don't think there are side effects then get on finasteride at 18 and later dutasteride if you are pushing further then a Norwood 2.
My crown looks pretty bad don’t you think? Also, how long would I use minoxidil and how much does it cost? Will I lose the majority of my hair by 55? Could it be a mature hairline?

Hey buddy, i started balding at 14 too and my hairline looked almost identical to yours at the time. I did nothing about it until i was 19 but the recession was going at a snails pace. I dont think you need to do anything until 18. If you cant wait until that time then start minoxidil but beware that sh*t is a commitment, even more so than a relationship. You will become minoxidil's b**ch.
Also dont listen to @Rickson34 . You are definitely not NW1.5.. you are NW1. Very minor recession. Look at the norwood scale and you will see for yourself.

How old are you and how’s your hair now? Also, how bad is my crown?

I am 20 and my hair is doing good thanks to oral minoxidil. Your crown is fine, the scalp you are seeing is your part line. Everybody has that, some more so than others.. my girlfriends part line is worse than yours FYI.

How much do you pay for minoxidil and how often do you get refills?

I pay £30 for 100 pills that last me 100 days. I would not recommend taking minoxidil orally though, it has potential side effects concerning the heart. Thankfully i am not suffering from any of those.

Your are having the same problem as I did initially since then my Hair loss has been curbed.. The only method I used to combat it at that age was an essential oils regimen. You have to do this at least 3 times a week initially and then take it down to like 2 or 1. Get coconut oil + Castor+ Emu+Olive, mix them together In almost equal amounts the olive can be a bit less. Heat em up and put them on your corners or maybe even your entire scalp... These will help with the bloodflow and provide essential nutrients such as Omega 3 acids that are blocked by dht...

AND here is a pretty useful method of checking for hairloss, they devised this at the University of Camebridge (from what I remember)

Check this for a decrease in hair loss every 3 weeks... What you have to do is Shampoo your hair 3 times consecutively for 3 days and on the 4th day take a comb with thick and thin sides. Then comb the top of your scalp and the sides for the next 60 seconds continuously over a white surface and afterwards count the number of hairs that came off. The hairs that come off should amount to no more than 10, if more then you should be concerned.

This was devised by Camebridge to measure the average loss of hairs for someone with NO male pattern baldness in comparison to those WITH male pattern baldness.

Thanks mate. How old are you and how’s your hair now? How bad does mine look? Do I need to be concerned with my crown? Also, what are the best shampoos that don’t cost too much?

It hasn't progressed and has been slightly repaired... 17 now

Listen Shampoo's dont matter much, honestly. Unless you have some sort of fungal infection and constant itch... What you do need to get are some essential oils as I said.

PS. I use a gentle Tea Tree shampoo or a natural shampoo from ecostore
