Am I going bald or have I always been this way?

Hi everyone,

I need honest opinions (most people are honest on here, anyway) about my hair. I have very fine hair, and not until recently did I start noticing that it was becoming finer and that my hairline was possibly receding. I'm still not very sure, and when I look at old pictures of myself I feel like my hair has not changed a lot. Please let me know your opinions. I'm using nizoral and generic rogaine currently, contemplating starting proscar. Thank you in advance. I should also say that the hair on the top of my head is finer the days that I shower, and usually the day after when my hair is dry it seems to be thicker.

You are definitely receding in the most recent photo. You can see your hairline has miniaturization.

In the 2nd photo, It looks more like alopecia areta . (sic) rather than typical male pattern baldness. Go see a dermatologist if you are unsure.

Difficult to say definitively as your first picture was at a distance and can't see what your hairline was like two years ago.

I actually mean the third top photo. Picture 3. It was the top of the head.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still weighing my options at the moment, since it still in the early stages it seems like. I'm thinking about just using products to help my hair look fuller until eventually having to go for surgery. I'm still adamant about finasteride and want to avoid all possible sides. Any thoughts?
