Was certain I had a solid mature hairline until recently shaving my head. Now it looks like I’m thinning? Am I moving Norwood or starting to process of diffuse thinning

Yup but you still have follicles on the norwood zones, as soon as possible get on finasteride.

Terrible photos. Take some photos outside or under better lighting.

Finasteride or you’ll continue to bald. Up to you to see if the risks are worth it .

Okay so what’s my current state and what Norwood would you say it’s moving into? I’m fully aware that it’s likely I’m going to have to make to jump and start taking finasteride at some point, possibly soon. However i’d like to avoid that for now as I’m still only in my early 20’s and commiting myself to taking something that will literally become a lifelong medication is quite a heavy thing to intake at an early age. I also don’t believe my hair loss is bad enough (yet) to start something such as finasteride. It looks a lot worse when shaved, when longer it’s thick and my hairline looks solid even though I can now see it’s not.
You are getting a mature hairline(NW2) but it's not fully formed yet.

NW2 / Becoming NW2. Finasteride for most people simply maintains so dont think you can jump on it at nw3 and you'll go back a norwood as its likely that wont happen. If you're gonna take it in 2 years time you might as well take it now .

Do you not think its passing the Norwood 2 point? I wouldn't know because I'm not good at this Norwood business

Looks like the forming of a norwood 2 yes. If this will be a mature hairline or not depends on ur family history mostly. If it goes past norwood2 u should consider starting treatment.

I don't know why people on here are so quick to accept a NW2. If I had it to do over again I would get on finasteride as a NW1 at the very first sign of hair loss. The same argument that it's natural would also apply to norwood 7.
finasteride honestly doesn’t always maintain a norwood 1. some people are just meant to go to norwood 2, the front hairline is super sensitive to DHT

he’s approaching a norwood 2. could be a maturing hairline. take finasteride if your worried.
He is at least NW2.5. The "island" at the front is clearly defined and his temples are rounded and significantly receded.

Doesnt matter if he is NW2 or NW2.5, he should start finasteride asap.
