I lost a lot of hair last year. Noticably from the front. Hairline is okay but it looks really thin in front and top. I am 25 years old.

ONE OF US! ONE OF US!!!!
Hey man! Thanks for the response. You are a senior member and i respect your opinion but can it be Telogen Effluvium? I had a very stressfull year. I went from 0 hrs study to 8 hrs study per day. Quit smoking in cold Turkey. Sleep cycles are like 3-4AM to 9-10 AM (earlier 11-12PM to 7-8AM)...

And why is their only 1 response :(

Yes I think you have started the balding process... sorry.

No much you can do really... Finasteride 1mg/day was what I did, since 15yrs ago. And I have pretty much the same hair since then.

If you consider taking it, I would recommend starting asap. i.e. don't delay thinking you could start later and 'regrow' some, because changes are you wont. It is very good at 'freezing' the process, though.

good luck.

You've been using finasteride for 15 years? Has t improved or stayed the same?

Yes.
I believe it improved a little bit, but it basically stayed the same during this whole time.

Just one more thing. I was losing hair but that is not the case righy now. I see only two or three hairs on my hand when i wash it. Is it aggressive?
Can i go bald without me seeing any hairfall?

I ll meet with a derm and get prescription for finasteride.

Also, br1 i think luck is a major factor here. I read about a guy in this forum, whose body got tolerant to finasteride(worked for a while) and he kept on increasing dosage, eventually losing hair.

Finasteride is the most effective treatment we have but it's not perfect. I would also advise to research the drug first, especially the side effects before deciding if it's for you.

I am updating this post after a month. Doctor advised me against fina and asked me to wait for 6 months. I have been taking real good care of hair. Hair fall has certainly reduced. What do you guys think. Should i go for other opinion?

Your hair looks great but I do think the male pattern baldness process has started. Your first course of action if you want to treat it is ideally finasteride. Do your research on it and come to an informed decision, good luck!

Do what the Doctor said for now then. It sounds like he wants to be sure male pattern baldness is the cause of your hair loss before prescribing finasteride which is sensible. However, I know that some doctors just don't like prescribing finasteride for various reasons. If your hair loss gets any worse at all I would absolutely get a second opinion.
