New here, anyway I recently turned 20 and feel in the past few years my hairline has gotten worse and looks receding. I only have this problem from the front, my hair currently grows very fast and I get it cut every 2-3 weeks so I'm not completely balding yet my hairline looks like chit

Do you think using rogaine minoxidil will help?

Btw I've used rogaine in the past on my face to grow facial hair because I couldn't grow a beard/stubble naturally and it worked after only using it for a month, after I stopped using it I kept my beard gains permanently and had 0 side affects so I'm confident this could work for my hairline

Anyway here are some current pics, what Norwood would you say I am? Is it truly receding or do I have a mature hairline?

You would be classified as a Norwood 2.

Since it seems like you're worried about balding, I recommend that you go make an appointment with a hair transplant surgeon and get a diagnosis whether you have Male Pattern Baldness or not. If you do have the condition, have them write you a prescription for a medication called Finasteride in order to acquire the treatment and start taking it ASAP so your hair doesn't keep getting worse.

This.

Although I wouldn't get my hopes up about getting Propecia prescribed by the clueless GPs here...but I guess it's worth a go. Good luck bro.

I'd get on propecia, but I think your hair looks great! I'm 20 and have MUCH thinner hair than you haha.

Your temples are significantly receded, as does your hairline overall. Probably a Norwood 2ish, though the height and shape of your hairline also make me consider the possibility of a 3.

Definitely not a NW3. I actually think his hair looks pretty good. Solid NW2. Meds should hopefully save his hair for many years to come.
For reference this is what a Norwood 3 looks like.

How do you significantly distinguish them? I thought a Norwood 3 had a more circular hairline patter with relation to the temples, while a Norwood 2 had a more v-shape and a straighter hairline that just angles into the temples

Theres no one way to determine this as many people recede differently. The general consensus is that once the receding hairline reaches as far back as the ears one is now in NW3 territory. Look at OP's hair, not even close. He is a solid NW2.
