It's probably because your body temperature rises, pores open up because of the higher temperature and its easier for the hair to fall out. Doesn't matter because that hair would have fallen out anyway.
Easy way to test this theory, try showering with hot water for a very long time, see how much hair has fallen out. Then shower with very cold water and compare.
