Yeah, I know exercise is great for you. However, aerobic exercise makes me lose hair. Any plausible reason for this that you guys know of?

there will be no plausible reason because there is no basis for what you are claiming. how could you possibly tell that aerobic exercise is making you lose your hair? do you have an identical twin who's lifestyle is exactly the same as yours except that he is not losing his hair and does not do aerobic exercise?

why do you think aerobic exercise is making you lose your hair?

Why might this be? Follicles not getting enough ATP? Poor liver function? High cortisol?

Hmm excessive cardio like marathon runners may experience some hairloss because its so unhealthy to run such long distances. The human body was not designed to do that and massive amounts of stress hormone is released. Most of them look sick and unhealthy. Look at this example

Cardio is good for you but not in excessive amounts. Which is like everything in life. Dont over do it. Do your cardio for around 40min - 1hr and you will reap great benefits from it, you may even increase your haircount by burning off DHT in ur muscles.

My hair falls out more immediately following aerobic exercise, so I believe there is a relationship. I am not overexercising, so I don't know what the correlation might be.

hair falling out immediately after exercise is absolutely not connected with androgenic alopecia. AA is a gradual process, it doesnt happen instantly. I am reasonably certain that this is simply you paying more attention after exercise or something similar.

I would see a dermatologist or a top doctor of some sort about this, rather than asking on a forum..

Yeah don't worry ur not alone ive experienced this also. This is my theory about this. The body thrives on "consistancy" and i noticed when i first started up jogging i suffered MASSIVE sheds, almost like my body was completely shocked with this new activity. But when you keep it up permantly it goes away. In fact i noticed when i stop working out for a few weeks i also suffer massive sheds, so you can't win. Basically you need to be consistant, if your going to take up jogging then make sure you keep it up.

It's probably because your body temperature rises, pores open up because of the higher temperature and its easier for the hair to fall out. Doesn't matter because that hair would have fallen out anyway.

Easy way to test this theory, try showering with hot water for a very long time, see how much hair has fallen out. Then shower with very cold water and compare.

That rise in scalp temperature is a plausable idea, because heat does expand things. However i really dont like the idea of trying your little test of staying under a hot shower for a long time lol. I think you should test this theory for us?

screw that...

wow, I didn't know the body was capable of breaking down DHT as a form of energy

I found a website backing up my claims. This is a copy and paste from the site.

Not sure if that page is where i read it but im just proving I dont just make stuff up and pull it out my ***.

4. Participate in more outdoor activities to communicate with nature and exercise more to consume testosterone in the muscles of the body, rather than burn it into DHT. Try jogging or even taking a brisk walk. Any kind of physical activity is much better for your body than sitting around in front of a TV, especially if you don’t normally move around much.

I personally believe that exercise is very important (and I have not been doing enough to be honest). It's my observation that people who get plenty of exercise are much less prone to balding than people who sit on their *** watching tv all day.
