Crown is fine I think. I’m not sure really, my hairline has never been good (especially on the right) and I’m not sure if it’s worse or stable which for me is an important distinction.

You can see my hairline somewhat in the below pics that are from when I’m like 21 or 22 (currently a month from 28). Pardon the shirtless pics, for what ever reason you could see my hairline best in the pics

The crown does look okay for now. At this time I would probably just wait and see. If you notice it does start to get worse with crown loss then using Finasteride to hold off any further recession would probably be good for you.

Does this look like thinning to you? Feel like I’m seeing too much scalp

Possibly but your hair is wet and you are taking a close up photo, so it is going to look a lot worse. I do not see anything where you could apply Minoxidil to. If you are noticing thinning, you can always start taking Finasteride, especially if you have a family history.

I personally would rather wait and see and in the meantime apply some natural growth stimulants like Rosemary and Peppermint oil to encourage growth. If it gets worse then reevaluate.

Is there any pattern to it? It seems really random?

My hair is wavy and seems to clump when I slick it back, could it simply be the clumping?

I would hop on finasteride as a preemptive measure, if you notice unbearable sides then just stop. I wish i had caught my male pattern baldness earlier on and i would be much better off today. Just my opinion.

Hmm i would have thought since DHT is attacking the follicles then reducing that would stop it. Hence no miniaturization of hair...therefore preempting and stopping male pattern baldness and maintaining what he has with some chance of regrowth? I just wish i looked at the back of my head more often lol wasn't till a friend pointed it out did i know is was going bald.

I would suggest just starting finasteride and nizoral first, after a year assess the results and see if minoxidil is needed.

What Derelict said + vitamin D supplement. Wouldnt do Minoxidil just yet as once you go down that route it is shed followed by regrowth followed by shed followed by regrowth so on etc.

Thanks guy, you’re right I’m gonna skip rogaine for now. Started 1mg today, probably going to only do 0.5mg tomorrow based on what I’ve been reading. Used Nizoral today and my scalp feels AMAZING. Honestly I feel so much less anxious now... I may go get a second opinion soon just to make sure though

I think it maybe because my hair super clumped with my normal shampoo, it looks so much thicker after a Nizoral wash which made it not do that... also when my hair is wet and combed forward (see other pictures) it doesn’t really look thin.

U have already started medicine now.Let's see how fina will work for u.If u are lucky,it will let u regrow more hair on ur crown or maintain what u have.Good luck bro
