Get a pill cutter and cut 1mg of finasteride into eighths. Add on top of that a good hair multivitamin like HR23. Most surgeons will not take a patient who isn't on finasteride. Try lipogain minoxidil which also has DHT blockers. Use Nizoral 2% twice a week alternated with Pura D'or shampoo. Nioxin is nice for making hair look nice but it does NOTHING for hairloss. Then grab a cheap laser treatment helmet. So my recommendation for you:

HR23 supplement 1xPD
Nizoral 2% 2xWeekly
finasteride cut into the tiniest pieces you can imagine (just SOME otherwise its really an uphill battle)
Pura D'or shampoo 5xWeekly
No conditioner
Laser cap: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/64-128-D...hash=item4d4d8e36b4:m:mbj1fT8rCqfSQ0oP2X7G7Wg
Lipogaine sensitive minoxidil

Focus the lipogaine minoxidil at the crown and top. I would say that for the front your best bet is a transplant, but the above regime could regrow a lot.

Also your comment about "no minoxidil results after a month" is ridiculous and laughable. It can be a GODSEND for some people but results are ONLY SEEN after 3 months generally. So USE THE LIPOGAIN minoxidil AND STICK WITH IT OR ACCEPT YOUR FATE!!!

Yeah FFS. This is exactly what happened to my thread - people talking about maturing hair lines.. that finasteride still isn't guaranteed, etc.. - All this Filler Garbage.

Please, Please, start Finasteride if you at all care about the quality of your hair and are afraid of it worsening. So little people have side effects, and so many people curse the fact that they didn't start earlier.

Take that away from this thread. TRY, at the very least, Finasteride for several months. Keep on using Nizoral 1-2x week + Minoxidil everyday if you can.

But the key drug here is Finasteride.

If you care about hair, Finasteride is the only real option for you. If not, you will lose much ground and may very well become bald and with that severe depression. Which is very sad to see on these forums, when quick treatment usually follows with such positive results.

In your case yes spironolactone can help you stop the effect of some dht where it is applied, but if it goes systemic it could have the same or worse sides as finasteride. Min is a go and you should try that for at least 5 months before you decide if its working or not. You could use saw palmetto but its a weak finasteride with the same or more occurrences of sides.

If finasteride is not an option for you then minoxidil and nizoral is a good regimen. And the obvious healthy living choices.

Theres plenty of people on the forum that can help you with transplant options but finasteride is usually a must after a transplant although not something you have to do.

I wouldnt waste my money on laser helmets and fancy minoxidils but thats up to you. You could really see an improvment with minoxidil if your a good responder. Hope that helps.

He asked about S5 and we had an argument about S5. Are you a complete idiot? Clearly we didn't hijack the thread, but there are differences of opinion on a topic HE ASKED ABOUT. Jackass.

On the upside, your point about finasteride is worthwhile. Agreed on the wishing started sooner part too.

More get S5 cream sides than finasteride sides.

Lazer has more scientific backing than S5 cream by a long shot.

Is there studies on the efficacy of smaller doses of finasteride comparitively with reduced effects or potential of side effects?

The original FDA trials showed more sides in a group taking 2.5mg than 1mg and 0.5mg getting even less. Microdoses reduce a similar amount of DHT to the full thing however. 0.25 for example about 60% while 1mg 70%. There are people with results on 0.25mg alone so for the wallet and for the body I would recommend that.

I can't remember the exact side but 10% of the people at 2.5mg were getting it while only 2% at 0.5mg.

Finasteride has pretty much the same effect on dht at .05mg as 1mg. Yet people report reduction in sides by taking lower doses like .25 mg. So unless you want to micro dose id suggest starting at .25 mg and seeing how you react then upping the does if you feel necessary.

What most people do is FIRST take the recommended dose for several months.. if they notice negative side effects [after that period of time], they then decide on reducing their dose and since they have only been taking Finasteride for a short while, none of those side effects remain permanent in like 97% of the case.

Keep in mind, many people experience mild side effects - lower semen production [less viscous/more watery], perhaps less spontaneous erections.. things like that during the first few weeks/month or two.. but they usually go away after several months.
If not, lower the dose slightly..

Also, Pura D'or is pretty expensive here in UK. Any thoughts on Waterman's GrowMe, seems to have the same key ingredients but a lot cheaper.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Allantoin-Rosemary-Stimulates-re-growth-Treatment/dp/B00Q59B4UK/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1483393320&sr=8-4&keywords=pura+d'or

Looks like a decent shampoo, but it lacks any of the DHT blockers. You could try the cheaper Pura D'or blue version. I'd go for one with the kitchen sink DHT blockers like the gold if you're not using a heavy finasteride dose.

I am on 0.25mg and my libido has substantially increased, as has my spontaneous erections, and semen volume. Even my orgasm quality has improved. It's like I'm having one that lasts like 3 seconds now.

You could do that but if you have doubts you can use .25 mg with close to the same effects without fear of sides. Up the dose if you feel you have no sides and want a small increase in dht inhibition

I tried finasteride over twelve months ago at 1mg and had serious sides after one pill that lasted over a week. Later I started again at 0.25 and have been fine. Definitely the way to go is start with the micro dose.

Well, that is an option for him after trying the full dose for a brief period of time.
First, stick with the dose that the majority of us take. Know you can always lower it and test the results.
Right now though you want the full fighting power working on those diffused spots of yours.

EDIT: Sorry for contributing to the clutter, OP. I will stop posting. Just know that you must start taking Finasteride if you want to do anything meaningful to stop/restore the current hair loss that you have.
That means calling your family doctor/dermatologist and getting them to write up a prescription ASAP [if not, ask for help on here in finding a reputable online source that sell generics without a prescription]. Whether you decide on micro-dosing or taking the full recommended dose if up to you.. the most important part is having those Finasteride pills accessible to you and taking them.

Last post in this thread.

OP.. best of luck to you.

I will repeat myself for the millionth time.. I WISH I TOOK FINASTERIDE SOONER THAN I DID.
Now go out there and TRY IT...
