A Lesson On Styling Your Hair To Conceal

I prefer to keep the sides short, but top long-ish (actually needs cutting)
To conceal the crown, just comb forwards if you're receeding. Backwards if you are not.
By doing so you conceal the crown and temples.
To add volume to the front end, comb the hair around otherwise it will just hang off your forehead and look odd.
See the photos and it is a night and day difference between just a simple combing with no concealer and messy again with no concealer.
Ill probably go for a fade on the sides soon as that further shows an illusion of volume.

All of those photos are with no concealer and clean hair.
But for nights out etc I use a bit of toppik on crown and temples. Sometimes I skip the temples because its messy. A bottle of toppik usually lasts about 2 years as i use it so rarely only special occasions
