Yo guys.
So quick recap.. i had thinning of the crown, and receding on the right temple. After some research, I started applying minoxidil.. Been on minoxidil about a year and half now. I had INCREDIBLE results during the first 5 months. Then for some reason it all started shedding again.

I continued applying it twice a day for a year. Then I jumped on finasteride. Today Mark's 6 months being on finasteride, and the shedding hasn't stopped or slowed down. My hair is worse than it's ever been in my life. Constantly looking in the mirror. Crown is thinning again, both temples are receding and I'm thinning all over my head now. Depressing the hell out of me. Dont know what to do anymore :/
Anyone been in the same situation? Any help/comments appreciated guys, thanks, and Merry Christmas.

90% chance you are a thick NW1, but okay I will bite. Give finasteride 12 to 18 months before deciding that it’s not working. 6 months is still early.

It just looks like its getting worse and worse. I've seen alot of stories where people have had fantastic results after 3 months. Any stories past the 6 months mark seem to have no results :/

Yup. A guy posted yesterday claiming finasteride no longer worked for after many years, down the thread he posted pics, he was at worst nw2, probably a 1.

I used to worry over finasterides efficacy because of all the non-responders on the forums, but I'm beginning to become convinced most of those have body dysmorphia.

All due respect to the first commenter, he might be legit.

I would wait one year after starting finasteride to judge the results. Personally I was experiencing the same thing, I saw a little bit of stopping shedding but no where near where I wanted to be. If you are not experiencing any side effects I would talk to your doctor about switching to dutasteride. When I made the switch I started seeing way more prominent results than I ever did on finasteride. Also make sure when you are applying minoxidil that you are derma rolling as it helps its effectiveness. If you have the budget I would recommend a laser helmet as well, it is one of the tools that has made the biggest change in my hair.

Hope this helped, I know how frustrating it can be doing all that work for nothing...
