4000 Grafts - My Fue At Hair Of Istanbul

Hi guys.

Been a long time lurker on this forum and part time contributor. Finally took the plunge and had a hair transplant procedure at Hair of Istanbul in Turkey, on 7th November 2019. I thought it would only be right for me to post on here as many others have done so in the past, helping me along the way.

Been losing hair for 12 years although Propecia has pretty much put a stop to that this last 12 months, giving me more impetus to finally get things up top sorted.

I've attached some pics:

Day 3 - Before my first hair wash.

Day 6 - Top shows scabbing. Donor shows scabs gone and healed nicely.

Day 10 - Scabs gone from top of my head.

Day 16 - Today.

Hi mate, looks good so far. What was the cost for 4000 grafts and how long were you in the clinic for?

I’m thinking about having a second transplant now and aren’t sure where to go. Was sceptical about turkey at first but people seem to be going over there and getting good work done!

Hi mate, thanks.

I paid £3000.

They picked me up at 13:00 and I was finished by about 20:30.

Looks good! Amazing what a difference 4,000 grafts can make.

Yes. There is a shedding process that takes place after a transplant. The majority of the implanted hair will fall and then new growth will start. The timeframes are different for each person. From what I understand, shedding can happen anytime up to 2 months after your procedure. I'm coming up to 1 month next week and have not shed a single hair thus far.

Hey guys. Following on from my post on here last month, here is my 1 month update for you.

Post Op

Day 13 - Hairline

Day 15 - Donor Area

1 Month - 7th December 2019

Recovery has gone better than expected. No redness. No itching. No pimples. No shock loss. Very minimal swelling. Very minimal pain. Numbness now at only about 20%. Scabs off in Donor area on day 6. Scabs off in Recipient area between day 7 and 10. Shedding started on 6th December.

I will open a thread once I get full result.

Each time I went to the clinic for PRP session...they will snap pictures.

1st PRP...on the day of the surgery.
2nd...1 month after.
3rd...2 months after the 2nd
4th (final) - 3 months after the 3rd.



I am in my 3rd month post surgery which I had on November 4th.

Shedding is painful to watch

That's great ! Where did you go and how has your first month been ? Hopefully all going smoothly for you.

Yeah shedding is crap. 1 step forwards, 2 steps back. All part of the process though. Best of luck for month 3. Happy growing.
