3 Weeks On finasteride. Hair Rapidily Thinning And Shedding. Good Sign?

Hey all,

First a little background. Im 22, started noticing hair loss about a year ago, mainly around temple region. Decided to get on generic finasteride 3 weeks ago. (I am also applying 1 ml of minoxidil to face to help with beard growth. I would also like to know if that affects my hair on my scalp). So far no side effects from finasteride.

I have however have been shedding and noticeably thinning alot this past week and half. I know that finasteride causes shedding so I'm not THAT worried, but is it normal to happen this early? And when can i expect for it to thicken up?

Also, if I shed quickly, does that mean I am a good responder and this is a good sign for things to come?

I also forgot to mention I use Regenpure every 3rd day!

Lol...im exactly 8 months on finasteride...with massibe shedding and thinning all over scalp when before i started i just had a receeded hairline..has the shedding stopped ? Nope ...can i now see my crown when b4 it was thick af ? Yes ....idk wat to tell u man..it sucks

Take a look on all the different hair loss forums. For some reason around 8 months is the magic number of months most people get the dreaded shed when they start finasteride. I don't know why but that is what happened to me and I never recovered above baseline. Some people just don't respond well and others do. Not me.

Now what im feeling is a heavy feeling hot mildly burning in my vertex where im now shedding the most.....ive been taking many pics and ill make a 1 year thread for everyone ive not missed a dose yet

Yes ..then it stopped for like 2 months then now its in full blast...with itchy burning sensation where dht is raping my helpless follicles..

Ha! Never a good day when your follices are getting gang banged by DHT. Keep at it I guess. Everyone says it takes about a year for full benefits.
