24M, significant diffuse thinning and receding hairline - is this salvageable?

Jesus this is aggressive. I’d do minoxidil, a strong oral finasteride or even a dutasteride with dermal rolling once a week with a 1.5 mm roller.
I did try 5ar inhibitors and had sides. I’m happy with my results atm. May jump on them further down the line.

Other options to consider for antiandrogenic treatment: topical dutasteride (it goes less systemic than topical finasteride due to a larger molecular weight), RU58841, saw palmetto, fluridil, ketoconazole cream
What do you think about ru58841 and the cardiac concerns? I’m quite attracted to it

Progress? Seems like it to me. Right side seems more full.

If you get sides just cut the dose for a couple days. I haven't had any sides but on days of headaches I take half dose.
Cutting the dose In half doesn’t make a different. finasteride levels build up over time in your body.

@Diffused_confidence be careful dude. I’ve been there, playing around with doses and stopping and starting. The sides always get worse.

Definitely feel like the beard is filling out, though hard to tell with the length difference. Will shave soon and see how things are looking then. lots of vellus hairs appearing that look to be connecting my beard. Added minoxidil foam in the morning after my shower because it doesn’t f*** my hair up and takes seconds. Still seeing a fair bit of hair in my hands after application of min/friction from my hands.

on min twice a day now, and finasteride 1mg 3x a week, still shedding like a mother f****r.

put keto shampoo on this morning, rubbed that sh*t in, about 15 hairs, then after min foam application another 10-15

yeah, so im putting the shedding down to me progressively applying minoxidil less effectively as it grew longer in length.

to counteract this, i'm:

1. using a dropper to apply the liquid in the PM.
2. using FOAM in the mornings, and using KVON's method for application, which should still be effective even as the hair grows longer.

kvon's video can be seen here:

Just applied foam, that’s partly why it looks like this. Plus the flash really accentuates thinning. Added one normal photo. It looks good when it’s parted over the right side (see normal photo) but I’d like to be able to do other hairstyles really (probably asking too much) haha.

*red from needling*
sound plausible to you @Norwoody ?

I haven't seen your hair this long before, so it's hard to gauge exactly where you're at. But it seems like you are pretty much holding ground at this point. A lot of people do the needling once a week and get some wounding, pressing most of the 1.5mm needle in. Some things to consider: tretinoin (retin-A) could make minoxidil more effective by promoting the sulfotransferase enzyme, so maybe that's something to add to your stack. Something else to consider is more frequent rolling, maybe every other day, but avoiding bleeding, lightly rolling just enough to get the scalp pink, like SomebodyAlex does. It will also improve absorption of topicals. Might be worth trying. He's had great results.
