I’m 30 years old from the UK been slowly receding since I was around 21 but been on finasteride and for the past 3 years been on dutateride.

Been thinking about a hair transplant for about 3 years but never really believed I would get one done.

When it got to a point of not being able to style my hair how I wanted I decided to look on forums to gain more information about hair transplant’s, I researched a lot and finally decided to go with Asmed as their reviews and results were the best.

I booked back in April 2017 to have the operation on Friday 17th November.

I flew from Uk to Instanbul on Wednesday 15th November with Turkish Airlines, probably the best airline I’ve ever flown with. I landed in instanbul at aroun 18:30 and got picked up by a driver who took me too the Radison Blu hotel which was excellent.

Consultation
The next day I got picked up from the hotel around 1pm for my consultation I was really nervous about the blood test as I hate injections as pathetic as it sounds ha. Once that was over with I got to meet with Dr Koray Erodgan, he let me draw my hairline on what I wanted and he wanted me to do some temple work aswell but I said I didn’t want that as I’ve never had good temporal peaks even when I was a kid and I want to save as many grafts as I could for the future. I also said I wanted U-FUE and he recommended I have 2400 grafts.

I then met the Anethesatist who was a really nice guy, I explained that I hated needles and he told me not to worry and gave me some Xanax to help me sleep that night and also some for the morning of surgery.

Got back to the hotel and all I could think about was the anaesthetic injections that I would be having the next day as I’d heard some horror stories.

Day of surgery

Had a decent sleep night before and woke up in the morning didn’t really feel nervous at all, must have been the Xanax ha.

Got picked up at 7am and taken to the clinic, nerves kicked in abit then, got taken into the surgery. The Anaethetist was there and asked how I was, I said I was abit nervous, he asked if I wanted something to chill me out so I said yes why not. He administered this by IV.

They then started on the anaesthetic injections and they were an absolute breeze,’little pin pricks now and then but nothing as bad I was thinking about hardly any pain at all.

The extractions then started which took upto about 1pm.

Then after lunch Dr Koray did the insisions.

After that his team did the implanting which took until about 5pm, again totally pain free.

The whole experience from start to finish as been excellent, I’ve actually enjoyed myself as strange as it sounds ha.

Just want to say thanks to all the staff at Asmed they are all really professional, friendly and hard working.

If I need any further work doing in the future I won’t hesitate to go back there.

Total donor 7800

2411 grafts extracted

I am now on day 11, all the scabs have gone, no pain at all, donor is all healed but slightly itchy.

I’ve cut my hair fine the first time since my hair transplant to try and get a presentable hair cut so I don’t have to wear a hat

Wow, good luck. Only thing that would have me a bit nervous is the fact you're 21. That seems young to start something like this.

He's 30 but I got it at 22 and quite frankly the sooner the better. Would have wasted a year as a depressed cucked hermit if I hadn't got one, it's stupid to wait if you have the money, are on medication and have done your research. The "don't get a transplant when you're young" line is literally a meme.

Stand corrected. I would still say 95% of people that get a transplant at 21 or 22 are too young, and that has been echoed by MANY before me. That isn't a "meme worthy" line...it's factual.

not a problem anymore - they can clone hair now so no one will run out donor hair ..provided they can afford it in the future
