Hello everybody,

I discovered Propecia a few months ago but was scared to take because of sides. I feel like I'm a great candidate for Propecia because my hairline hasn't actually receded. My hair is just thinning badly. And to the best of my knowledge, propecia works well for young men who are thinning. I'm 20 years old and was born with extremely thin hair. I'm going to show you pics of my hair at its prime and how it looks now.

The first 2 pics are when I was 14 years old. (used to pull all of the ladies haha)
The 3rd and 4th pics are my 20 year old self (Confidence decreased 10000%)

My Plan: Tomorrow I'm going to a hair transplant Surgeon I know to get a prescription for Propecia. I'm not comfortable with taking 1/4 of proscar because 1.25mg seems like it can make more of a difference to accelerate sides than the recommended 1mg/day. Anyways, I'm going to take 1mg Propecia daily for 18 months. Hopefully I get exceptional regrowth or at least maintain, then I plan to add min if I deem necessary. I will take note of any sides and regrowth and keep you updated with pics.

May the penis gods be with you...

You're past the point at which finasteride is going to save you, but you should be able to maintain. Realistically you'd need a huge number of grafts to fill in that whole balding area, but potentially if you're lucky the midscalp and crown could fill in a bit to the point that you'd get an acceptable tansplant result just focusing on the frontal area. No US surgeon is going to do a procedure on you that doesn't look like sh*t either at your age. They'd want to be very conservative. I had surgery at 22 though, 23 now and have had 6100 grafts.

I take 0.25mg of propecia no issues, had minor regrowth along with good maintenance for 1.5 years now.

Also just a pointer dude, hair is absolutely nothing to do with being confident; it's about not looking subhuman, a decade older or unattractive. Inside you'd be the same guy just as confident as you always were, just without the hair.

I am newer here. OP would do best to shave it. Easier said then done. I know.

Balding is not a choice. Bald is. Cut the sh*t. Grow out a bears. Embrace it.

I am using Rogaine atm. I am experiencing some strange stuff like tightening in my chest. I am curious if it's psychosomatic. As in, just in my head or do I need to be considering medical attention. If it continues, I will stop using it, and embrace the hair loss. I am thinking, I could be good till fifty years of age if it doesn't shed or lead me to be bald. I am knowing how you feel OP.

I prefer hair too. I might need off of it.

"I am experiencing some strange stuff like tightening in my chest"

I hadn't heard of any others experienced this, but personally on minoxidil I had chest tightening and shortness of breath issues. I'd get off it, for me they only got worse. Stopped fairly quickly after I stopped using it.

Finasteride is a better option in every sense.

I tried searching online. I saw no other posts or anything about it. I noticed that I was out of breathe at the gym and sweating unusually. I didn't know or think about it.

I am thinking of getting checked out. Like, monitor side effects and stuff. Check blood pressure. Even do so once a week. I am incredibly uncertain about how to proceed so, I am not sure if I will proceed until I see a doctor. I am preferable to hair but, not at the cost of the body. I am thinking I might have to stop.

:(

That's some aggressive balding, I'm sorry to see you are in this situation :( I personally don't think finasteride will do much, if anything for you. I'm the same age as you with a lot more hair and finasteride actually made me bald faster. Since you are technically already there I would suggest you look into dutasteride instead. It has a higher chance of regrowth than finasteride does. Good news is you won't need to worry about the hairline horror stories since you don't have one ( I'm sorry )
I would also look into using minoxidil. Once stabilized you could look into transplants.

i disagree with finasteride not doing much.

the fact hes so young and has lost his hair recently means it should work better than most people

finasteride and min could do wonders for him in a years time.

its a worth a shot

shouldnt even think about transplants at his age, hes just a f*****g kid

wait a few years at least to mature and understand exactly what the f*** is going on before thinking about surgery

most guys arent as smart and mature at 22 like jeannluc

seriously take a few years to research this sh*t op

just look into meds for now, not surgery

me i was the worst finasteride and minoxidil responder ever
But maybe you will be lucky and get decent regrowth with the combo fina + minoxidil .
But in your case minoxidil is essential , with a strong DHT blocker
keep us updated man

Propecia should thicken miniaturized hair, and in pictures i do not see, totally bald area so its very possible that medication will work.

No. I am contemplating testing (urine, blood, heart). A few weeks ago, I think someone stuck something in my drink while out. Weird stuff?

I noticed that I was aggressive, angry, and irritable. The group was roiders. I suspect that someone for a joke may have did something. It comes at a time where my concern of my hair became a reality. As in, I acknowledge this is not bad haircuts. It is a hair loss situation.

I am looking to make my hair healthy. I am curious about baking soda holistic health shampoos. I am heard that, dht is a factor but, scalp ph is the reason for hair loss. I have dandruff and a itchy scalp. I use a conditioner but no shampoo atm.

I had that tightness again. No pain. Mild discomfort. I am contemplating whether to just buzz it, grow it out o'natural or continue? I swear, the second a birds nest appears, it's gone. I am a Norwood 3. Likely, being overly critical. I just notice parts thin on the sides, receded, and thin at vertex. Like, thicker at base and other parts. I saw friends from high school and college recently. Many are balding or bald so, I am grateful for the hair I have. I just realize that I might buzz or shave my head by forty. Preferably, I like to find a wife before that happens lol

Finasteride should help but you will want to use a growth stimulator as well...minoxidil+dermarolling would be a good addition.

Yeah, I bitched out. Propecia isn't for me. I feel like It'd work good for me in my 20's, but I'm looking at the long-term investment. If I takes finasteride for 30 years straight. I'm guaranteed to never have a boner again by the time I reach my mid 40's. Also, I naturally have High levels of Test which gives me 10/10 genetics for bodybuilding. I feel like finasteride could jeopardize that. f*** that.

I still pull decent women with my current looks, but I used to get 9's with my full head of hair. So women really isn't my problem as I have dominant posture and great attitude when communicating with women.

Just gonna ride it out. f*** it. Not gonna put all of my hopes in a cure but Hopefully Stem Cell Regeneration comes through eventually lol. Or even that ATI-50002 Topical Solution

Wrong decision. Guarantee my lifts are better than yours and I've been on fina for 18 months.

Word, I've only been lifting/dieting seriously for 3 months. Bulk went 10/10, now my cut is going 10/10. Give me time, it's a journey.

Guarantee my sex strokes are better than yours in 5 years...sh*t they already are regardless if you don't feel any sides.
