I think your hair has maintained, and even maybe SLIGHTLY improved. Hair colour might've change a bit. But overall, I don't see why you're worried. Other members can tell me if I'm wrong but according to me you're at least maintaining.
I feel like it's gotten worse since last week so as soon as I finish work I'll take some more pics and upload them. But it's my scalp that's scaring me the most, whenever I walk past a mirror I tilt my head down and can see abit of scalp, which I never could before! And my hair just feels dead compared to how it used to. It's happening so rapidly it's scary. Hair loss is so stressful man

If you’re noticing thinning after two months it’s likely from the fina and not in your head. If finasteride is working this can be a good sign. It’s also possible that fina is already working to make your existing hair healthier, slightly improving or maintaining the overall appearance.

You should stay on fina for atleast 6 months. It is known for inducing a shed at the start of treatment and if you quit now you’d only be screwing yourself. If you’re having anxiety about whether or not it’s working at all you can get a blood test to check your dht levels as they should have plummeted by now.

If you’re really worried you can add something like RU58841. Painless if you order a pre made solution and it would add an entirely different mode of action to your regimen. Blocking androgen receptors in the scalp from all androgens while finasteride is inhibiting 5ar to lower dht. Very low risk of any side effects at all. A multi faceted approach is the best fight.

Thankyou for the advice man that's really helpful. You guys are helping me through a tough time and I appreciate it. I definitely feel like my hairline is still receding very slightly and my crown is scaring the sh*t out of me but I've shed way less today and your comments are helping so I'm gonna stick with it.

Another thing I've noticed is an increase in body/facial hair. Is that normal?

I know man I realise that I probably sound stupid and over dramatic. I still have a lot of hair left and I know it's not a crisis..but it feels like the beginning of a crisis. When you notice you're losing your hair it's obviously a scary feeling.

Other than the obvious if you’re up against any aggressive genetics the start of hairloss is no different than a bald head in terms of concern. Hairloss is progressive. Losing hair is still losing hair. Would you rather have a “crisis” at nw2 and hop on treatment or wait until nw3/4 when it might be too late?

I am referring to the people who say their hair has been destroyed and show before and after pics with no discernible differences or even thinning. He is already on treatment and his crisis occurred while on treatment.

Hey guys been doing some research today and it's making me panick again. I've noticed slight back acne and increase in body hair, I think the finasteride is messing with my hormones. I'm gonna go to the doctor and get it checked out as you suggested but I'm not very optimistic on this :( should I keep with it even if it's messing with my hormones?

Hair is getting worse by the day, mainly where my hair parts in the middle, looks thin and can see a lot of scalp in sunlight. Anyone got any more advice? Should I still stick with it?

i think u have body dysmorphia. your hair looks the same.
I know the pictures don't look too bad, and to be fair my hair line has only receded very slightly, but it's the thinning on my crown that's freaking me out it's really bad, a couple of weeks ago I had no hair loss on my crown AT ALL and now in sunlight I can see my scalp all the way up where my hair parts and it looks thin. That plus the continued shedding and all the other symptoms I mentioned is making me so depressed.

Is it possible for finasteride to mess with your hormones and make your hair loss worse? I think that's what is happening with me

Sorry for posting on here all the time it's just the only place I can really talk about what's going on.
Been looking up 'increased body and facial hair on finasteride' and apparently it's a bad sign because it means I have actually increased DHT which is why my body hair is growing and I'm losing hair on my head. :( This is my worst nightmare I'm going to see a doctor on Monday but my fears have come true.

What would you guys suggest? Stop taking finasteride and switch to something else?

Not saying you should do what I’m doing, but I took Fina on and off for a few days, was getting oily scalp and pimples, tapered off of it and am taking Zyrtec to help with the itch. Hoping my hair stops shedding as much and itch completely resolves. Probably gonna buzz my head and just forget about it so I can stop stressing about my stupid hair, if it grows back great if not then whatever. Even if I continue to shed at my current rate I should be able to maintain a buzz look for a few years I think, at which point I’ll probably just shave it.

It sucks but it’s reality. Better to live life without the stress

guess I’m just hoping it’s a Telogen Effluvium and will go away... shrug. Some guys online who had a similar reaction to yours stopped Fina and had regrowth, some posters never recovered and had permanent itching/diffuse thinning. Those cases did not sound pretty lol
