Essentially I'm 19 years old, with fairly long hair, however, recently, the my hairline and hair on the top of my head just 'went away', it's not just 'thinning' or receding, pretty much everything from the top of my forehead to my crown just wasn't there anymore, I still have a small amount of hair there, but it's absurdly thin. I also still have my sides just fine.
Anyway, I've been on Propecia for about 3 mounts now, I'm starting to notice these little white hairs appearing, is this good? Will these become actual hair? Is there anything I can do to help this?

Pictures please, have any pictures before it just went away?
I would reccommend just staying on finasteride, perhaps add nizoral.

minoxidil will just be annoying and add a lot to your regimen.

Keep it up and in 9 months you could see some serious progress!

Sorry if this is a double post, my other post seems to have not worked.

20140908_181726[1].jpg20140908_181320[1].jpg20140908_181250[1].jpg Don't have any pictures from before my hair decided to jump off my head, run across the carpet and escape. (Seriously, that's how it happened!)

nizoral? Isn't that for dandruff?

Your hair loss is VERY advance I'm afraid. You should start minoxidil, nizoral and dutasteride, forget about finasteride.

Yeah, I plan to, I've only recently realized how bad it actually looks.

Well, the doctor said it was male pattern baldness, although I'm not 100% sure myself, what else would it be?

Wow dude. Im with zzzzz... Doesn't look like other male pattern baldness dudes. Thats really extreme and that you said it just suddenly went. Maybe you should see another doctor and get a second opinion.

Really? Well, I shall do, any idea what it might be?

Looks like male pattern baldness but very severe, I'd even recommend dutasteride for this, finasteride might do the trick though !

Holy moly that is severe.
Your best bet is to get on finasteride/minoxidil/nizoral
IF you can try and get on dutasteride.
Damn....

You may be similar to patrick stewart, he lost all his hair in a year.

I am 16 and have been using finasteride for about 3 months now. I have diffuse thinning and have lost a lot more on my left than my right side. I'm not an expert but im worrried that for guys like us who start balding before 21ish finasteride might not be strong enough to stop hairloss. For me it has gotten noticeably worse in but im hoping this is a shed.
All the best

You shouldn't be taking finasteride or you are going to suffer serious consequences kid.

Jesus dude I bet you're still growing up.
Your're totally ****ing with your hormones.

I honestly don't think you should risk it, even for hair.

I would really like to know how developed you truly are, like do you think you've finished growing? I don't think I need to explain what I'm asking.

I know some guy on here who started when he was really young, maybe 17.
He seemed to have really severe hair loss at the time, and he eventually went off it.
But his Hair loss slowed down drastically and it was no way near has severe before.
Broscience here= He thought it changed his body to naturally inhibit DHT.

A much much milder version of this happened to me, its really odd and distressing. Mine happened at the exact same age as well. I lost all the hair in the fringe area seemingly overnight, had to get my hair cut since I had my hair down to my shoulders but had no front hair essentially. Since then (Im 23 now) I've had progressively shorter terminal hairs as they go towards the back of my head...meaning if i don't get my hair cut i grow a mullet naturally.

I've never used anything to treat it though until now, I've just kept my hair short, as much as I hate it. After the initial massive loss the loss was so slow I only noticed I've been receding 5 years later.

I'm not in any way comparing mine to yours in terms of extremity though, I just have a mature hairline now but i did get that almost sudden loss overnight like you explained, its really weird.

Have you noticed a sudden growth of hair all over your body by any chance? Right after I went through that loss I grew hair all over my arms up to the top my shoulders, loads more leg hair and some back hair. Not sure if there's a connection. I'm sure more experienced members on the board would know the answer to that I don't know anything about the causes of hair loss beyond the dht and hair follicle connection.

What about your sleeping pattern and stress? I lost my frontal hair in a period of sleeping almost nocturnally and being stressed over acne, that would lead to more general loss like yours but in my case I seemed to have just developed male pattern baldness, so in my case i doubt that was the cause.

I've always been pretty hairy. I used to wear a hat all the time before I knew I was going bald, also I had sleeping problems and anemia. That's probably why it has become so bad. Is there seriously nobody here who had it worse than / as bad as me? xD
So, I've been on the meds a little longer now, and have had my hair cut shorter. Looking a bit like this right now: 20141013_213731.jpg20141013_220610.jpg20141013_220723.jpg20141013_220737.jpg Not sure if this is an improvement or not. xD

Anyway, I'm just trying to get into shape recently, for mostly unrelated reasons, but I guess that'll help...I wonder what I'd look like shaven...Hmmm.

You need to do the treatments people suggested but also imo you need to do grade 1/2 all over. Will look smarter. Also you look older than 19 and no that's not due to hair loss, I am 28 but look not much older if at all.

Ageing maybe genetics but you need to look at your lifestyle too.

Sorry for you..Unfortunately i AM ALSO fighting this DHT monster...
Btw,your hair fall dont seem like a male pattern baldness....You said you are anemic..So as
iced said try Fe-folate tabs...Also it may be due to hypothyroidism...
Dude did you suffer from a severe disease few months back..Then that may be the cause...GO & SEE a doctor first...We are no specialists...
& I have never heard or seen such a aggressive male pattern baldness...It does'nt make any sense to me...male pattern baldness can be severe is some cases but you cant lose such large amounts in such a short time span...I dont think its AA/male pattern baldness....If it is due to anemia/hypothyroidism/cushing's disease/a severe disease few months back then I am sure the hairs will come back...
Sorry for you mate...Hope all the hair comes back(at least a majority)...
