10 Things Freaking me about Advanced Hair Studio

Hello people,
I just had a "free" consultation with Advanced Hair Studio. I'll break it down as to what frustrated me..

1.The overuse of Shane Warne to promote their company, seriously, he might be good at cricket, but he has a low credibility when it comes to advising about anything else.

2. They made me watch this ten minute video that had testimonies from rugby league stars and other misc. celebrities (The cheesy behavior of them all kind of made you feel that maybe balding was a better option)

3. That annoying "Yeah Yeah" at the end of video (and their commercials) signals to me the mindset of the marketing division for AHS is still trapped in the 1980s.

4. After the video, the salesman was disappointed that I did not exhibit any enthusiasm as a result of watching the video.

5. I don't doubt the effectiveness of their treatment, but i just did not like the overall quasi doomsday scenario they insinuated about balding. I don't fear balding as such, I just wish its onset didn't come to me at the age I'm now, 28. Maybe 35.

6. Then crunch time, the money factor. He told me the price is $6000, but he said I was very lucky, because for the month of April, they are offering a student discount of $3600. Then adding, its only for 11 places, and so far, 6 have been filled. Thus pressuring me further to sign up or I'll lose the deal of a lifetime (I don't know just how April became a magical month for students specifically at AHS)

7. Then he advised I stay away from propecia as it causes erectile dysfunction. I informed him, according to the stats, its only in 1-2% of men, and it usually goes away after stopping the propecia. He then went on about how natural their products are etc.

8. What's this fixation about the laser treatment?, the video used cutting edge futuristic animation to illustrate the power of the laser treatment, does it really work?

9. There was nothing really subtle about the salesman's tactics. The sweeping generalisations just added to the frustration and insulted my intelligence.

10. Ahhhhhh, if I see another Shane Warne image on the wall, I'll snap!.

I even called Ashley and Martin, and one of the things the lady said on the phone was that "AHS are crap, their products don't work". Despite my bad experience with AHS, I'm not going to write off their effectiveness, it's just the rip-off part that spooks me. Hence why I decided not to even book an appointment with Ashley Martin.

To all out there, the confusion is causing a split in my head. Can you please give me some clear advice. I'm 28, in Sydney, stressing big time
because of my phd and lack of exercise. My balding is in its early stages. Do you think I should just buy propecia and get started on it?. Do I need anything else. Please advise as to what has worked for you?.
Thank you,
Mark

AHS are pirates.

Laser Hair Therapy is bullshit.

Finasteride and Minoxidil are the most effective methods available to anyone for maintaining/regrowing your hair.

In fact when you sign up to the AHS "program" they actually give you minoxidil. Any results they get are because of this, not their fraudulent laser "therapy".

I'm on finasteride only, no sides. Get proscar and cut the pill up ... soooo cheap.

oh, and watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwWp5mlGtZU

Yeah this is all the advice you need.

Stay away from those rip off merchants and just start on propecia or proscar cut into quarters.

Maybe add minoxidil after 6 12 months of you're not happy with propecia results (but remember it's more for maintenance than regrowth).

I am from Melbourne MarkyMark and a few years ago a paid a little visit to these scammers. From reading these message boards and studies I knew more than they did. I just didnt know much about lasers.

They staple of their program is Minoxidil, which they claim does little to nothing without their 'laser'. Pure BS. More like their laser does little to nothing without the minoxidil.

They also have Saw Palmetto as part of their treatment protocol. But its not even at the strength it needs to be in order for it to be effective. Saw Palmetto needs to contain 85-95% fatty acids and sterols. Theirs only has 14%!

They are asking you to pay them thousands for minoxdil basically. Trust me, I have done my homework.

You were right to feel disturbed by their actions when you went their. And if I see Warney spamming this crap on the TV anymore I am going to go crazy.

STAY AWAY. THEY ARE CROOKS.

• You can buy the new Rogaine Foam from ebay(I just got some)
• Get some generic Propecia from online or get a script from your doctor.
• And use Nizoral shampoo 3-4 times per week. Get it at your local pharmacy.

Start with that. It will save you paying thousands of dollars for minoxidil.

Blimey MarkeyMark, they use the exact same tactics here in the UK, the 80's video, photos of sport personalities, special offer of the month, cheesey consultant etc lol.

Worse thing of all these guys tried to stage me by phoning me pretending to be a sucessful customer and wanted to meet up to show me his 'results'

They have been on watchdog in the UK here

Oh God, those youtube videos were shocking. And when the BBC talks, I listen.
Well, it's good to know that AHS is consistently deceptive worldwide.
Guys, I already have a prescription for Finestride, but it doesn't specify what milligrams, when I go to the pharmacist, should I just ask them any specific questions?, eg If I should split the tablets on my first trial?, into quarters, half or take it complete?. Would anyone of you know what the common response would be?. Thanks all.

Blaze,
Thanks about the Nizoral shampoo recommendation. I just googled it and it looks like a promising complimentary aspect to the propecia. I'm now eager to by my own AHS ;)

Nothing really they both contain Finesteride its just that the Propecia tablet has 1mg whilst the proscar has 5mg. So its cheaper to buy proscar and cut it into fifths.

Advanced Hair Studio India -

One more attempt at resurrecting all your threads on our fourms, and mention of your entire company will be disallowed on these forums from now until perpetuity.

I will also be reporting the India office's conduct to the company headquarters, as I am quite sure they do not approve of your dishonest marketing tactics.

Hands off the forums. They are for legitimate consumers only.
