finasteride and dutasteride is deffo a scam and placebo effect. Dont work even the slightest but can give sexual sides at least in my case. I was left with permanent sides and no hair gain only loss.

I get how frustrating that must be, especially when you’re doing everything right and not seeing results. Oral Finasteride and Minoxidil work for most people, but unfortunately, not everyone responds the same way.

A few things to consider:

  • Timeframe: How long have you been on them? Finasteride can take 6-12 months to show results, and Minoxidil often causes initial shedding before regrowth kicks in.
  • Shedding vs. Regrowth: Some people experience stabilization rather than regrowth—meaning the meds slow down hair loss but don’t necessarily bring lost hair back.
  • Microneedling: A lot of guys have seen better results when they combine Minoxidil with microneedling (dermaroller or dermapen, 1-1.5mm once a week) to improve absorption and scalp blood flow.
  • Ketoconazole Shampoo: Some studies suggest it helps with inflammation and DHT buildup on the scalp, so it might be worth adding to your routine.
  • Other Causes? If the meds aren’t helping at all, it might be worth checking for underlying issues like thyroid problems, iron deficiency, or chronic stress.
If nothing is working, you could consult with a hair specialist to explore higher-strength treatments (like Dutasteride) or even non-surgical options like PRP therapy.

I know it’s discouraging, but don’t give up yet. Have you noticed any change at all—like slowed shedding—or is it just completely ineffective for you?
