Unfortunately I cannot use the big 3- I tried 1mg of finasteride 2.5 years ago and I had a bad reaction- hair thinned out, massive shed, dry brittle hair, increased sebum, increased body hair, itching and a painful scalp. Although these symptoms have slowed, they are still present.

How badly has my hair deteriorated in the last 12 months? Thanks

Brown shirt is August 20. Red shirt is today.
Thanks

You might be getting gray. Besides that, what's the deal? Are we supposed to guess whether you are going bald or not?

Cause a bunch of guys on here are going to be pissed if they can't find any hair loss. It doesn't matter to me. I hate playing the guess if I am going bald game. Plus, you won't get any sympathy on here by not using standard meds that pretty much all of us use or have used in the past. Try Dutasteride and try Selsun Blue if you don't like Keto. See a dermatologist about your sebum and likely dermatitis issues. All of these issues are mediated by DHT and baldness is highly correlated with dandruff, scalp sores greasy hair, acne and dermatitis.

I had to remove my beard before the dermatitis relented.

Good luck,
Janey

I'm not playing any guess if I'm going bald game, nor am I looking for sympathy? I stated why I can't use the go-to products because that's what will get suggested. And frankly, I regret going on them as none of the problems existed before I went on them.

I was merely asking what people's opinions are of how fast my hair loss has progressed, just like countless other users on here have done the same.

I also don't have dermititis which was confirmed by a doctor

The angles play a role. In the red shirt picture your hair looks somewhat thicker, but the angle and lighting slightly differ. Are you only losing hair on crown?

Unfortunately not. I've receded too but don't have any previous pictures to compare it to. I am diffuse all over, including the back and sides. The red shirt pic is in a harsher light. Would you say the diffuse has gotten progressively worse?

Guys either get it or they don't. Nobody cares about your personal issues. Find a way to make finasteride/duta work. Try titrating doses. Try using topicals. But basically, if you can't use finasteride/min/keto then you are screwed anyway so what's the point of asking strangers "guess if I am going bald" with two tiny pictures that look the same? Sigh. You don't appear to have any hair loss so maybe you don't need the Big 3. I don't believe many, many guys when they say, I can't use this or that, woe is me. You tried finasteride once two years ago and didn't try to titrate the dose at all and then you come on here and contribute to the panic everyone else your age already has about finasteride and minoxidil so that does sort of piss me off but I am a lady. I wish you the courage to take on your hair loss issue if it even exists but nobody on here needs or wants to hear about "I took finasteride one time and I starting hallucinating"....

I'm sorry you seem to have taken offence to the fact I've said I had side effects from taking finasteride. This is a discussion forum about hair loss and I am asking people's opinions on whether mine has gotten significantly worse in the last 12 months. I haven't asked for alternative treatments to finasteride but Finasteride is a major topic on this discussion board so I was stating that it didn't work for me and seems to have had a reverse effect. I haven't tried to discourage anyone from using it nor have I slated the product. If you don't care what my experiences are with it, then why are you even commenting on my post? I've said these 'personal issues' are a result of me using finasteride, and I really couldn't care if you don't believe me or the "many, many other guys" who can't use certain treatments. All I am asking (as I have stated) is what are people's opinions of my hair loss progress

For some reason I feel your voice is that of Kermit’s, so when I read your posts I read them in Kermit’s voice in my head. Eerie. It may be a side effect of finasteride. Have you consulted with your family doctor? I wonder what ms piggy had to say

Listen pal, if you have something for Kermit and ms piggy, then that is fine. Please don't bring me into your fantasies. You should also probably grow up

I mean, as I said, your hair looks in a better quality than the before picture. It can be the angle, the lighting or it really looks better.

I've seen previous pictures of yours in another thread and apparently your hair has changed color, which is something that I find interesting because the same happened to me after a disastrous shedding. Although I haven't recovered my original density, my curly brown hair turned into an exquisite texture, approaching the black color. I used to have medium thickness strands when I was younger now they're becoming really thick and some of them uneven. Weird.

That's good news then, if yours is becoming thicker! Yes, mine turned from black to lighter or brown. I also shed whenever I run my hands through my hair

I try to be positive that I'll regrow at least half of what I've lost, but there is no difference on the thin spots I have. I don't have male pattern baldness but had a severe case of telogen effluvium that lasted for months. My shedding is insignificant nowadays, but my overall density is still bad, so much so that styling became a burden and makes me really depressed.

You’ve been to Chernboyl within the past 12 months, one of your eyes is nostril level, and another member spotted you and recorded you doing some random body motions as shown below. You need to see a REHL specialist right away

If it is telogen effluvium then there is hope it'll grow back? All the best

The derms said so. However, it's been quite a while and no visible differences.
