0.5mg finasteride 7 Week Results (hairline)

Started 0.25mg/day finasteride on the 16/05/18. Stayed on this dose for 9 days before switching to 0.5mg/day. Results are 7 weeks from starting the first 0.25mg dose. I did not take the first pictures of my hairline until the 27/05/18, so the pictures compare results from that date to 9/07/18. I created this thread to document effects of finasteride on the hairline and give people an idea of what sort of results to expect on this dose. Cheers.

Yeah it seems to be so far fingers crossed. The regrowth along the hairline started pretty quickly, which I honestly did not expect.

As far as sides effects, there was a decrease in libido in the first 10 to 14 days, which then quickly returned back to my normal libido ever since. The initial decrease was not too bad and I attribute it at least partly to anxiety relating to starting the medication.

Oh wow! That is noticeable already.. Incredible. Although I wouldn't say this is what to expect on 1mg finasteride. So far your results seem to put you in the top 5% of responders. You may end up with almost a full head of hair by 1 year mark!

That’s two months now right and I heard that it can cause cancer bro I was gonna start yesterday I got the pills and everything but I’m still hesitating because once you start can’t go back unless you decide to go bald lol

I'm surprised you say it's in the top 5. It's really that much? If true that'd pretty cool cause I've gotten more regrowth than this from vitamin D and adjusting my diet. Am I lucky? My hair is shedding so much though.


Edit: OP, which finasteride are you using? There are multiple generics right? Whichever one you are using seems to be working well. Any sides?

If it continues at the rate its growing then I would say so. Most people are lucky to maintain, if that.

Further progress pics. Almost 3 months in now. WheeljackG1- I'm not sure which exact brand it is, but it is a generic one. I just haven't got the box on me only the pills. No real sides to report.
