Hair Density (do I Need Another Transplant?)

Thanks for your take. I think that's what has happened here. I think I'll be looking for another 2,000 grafts to go on top of my last transplant to recover the lost hair. April will be 12 months. If my hair doesn't begin to regrow I'll begin to make plans then.

Hair Density (do I Need Another Transplant?)

Hi, FF. I've been taking Avodart for the last few years and throughout the transplant. GP, I think that's probably right. It may be that my native hair has fallen out due to the transplant. I know telegon effluvium is another option as this is sometimes brought on by changes in weather and...

Hair Density (do I Need Another Transplant?)

Thanks for your thoughts John. The hair-loss I've had has been very slow, Maybe over the course of 4 or 5 years more. Waiting would have meant years with a hairline I wasn't happy with. After the transplant I had a good spell. Then over 2 or 3 months its rapidly deteriorated (More so than at...

Hair Density (do I Need Another Transplant?)

I had a hair transplant 9 months ago. I was a Norwood 1 but veering into Norwood 2 territory on the left side of my hairline. I wanted to bring the hairline forward and add depth. After 6 months the results were pretty good. The left side of my hairline was thin but had been brought forward...

Why The Galea Is The Fundamental Cause Of Male Pattern Balding (& Androgens Are Secondary)

You believe the mechanical tension theory is a ruse created by Botox professionals to increase revenue? It took me a while to warm to the mechanical stress theory. I had to read a handful of studies (unrelated to the botox industry) before I took it seriously. This has already been discussed in...

Why The Galea Is The Fundamental Cause Of Male Pattern Balding (& Androgens Are Secondary)

The NW7 region is not overlying the galea? Hair on buttocks? Baldness could have evolved to fool hunters? Are you an Androgen Hypothesis advocate Mandar?

Involvement Of Mechanical Stress In Androgenetic Alopecia | Von Mises 2d Analysis Models

I've been reading your comments on the related galea thread. Thanks for introducing me to the word 'Pilosebaceous', Armando. This paper was published in 1991. That statement needs to be read in the context of the time. I think you mean the % of people who have halted hair-loss through...

Involvement Of Mechanical Stress In Androgenetic Alopecia | Von Mises 2d Analysis Models

Thanks Pain. I don't believe Finasteride or the ligature of arteries are counter-arguments to Rob's paper. Rob acknowledges that Finasteride works well for a small number of people. He just disagrees with the Androgen Hypothesis and the role of DHT. I don't believe restricting blood flow is...

Involvement Of Mechanical Stress In Androgenetic Alopecia | Von Mises 2d Analysis Models

We don't have stories. We have studies: 'The result of this analysis indicates a constant linear dependence between elastic deformation of scalp and Androgenetic Alopecia patterning, which clearly identifies mechanical stress as an active factor in Androgenetic Alopecia'. -- Segura. We have...

Involvement Of Mechanical Stress In Androgenetic Alopecia | Von Mises 2d Analysis Models

Is Rob's theory far fetched? To me it's more solid than the Androgen Hypothesis. I don't know how we'd verify your statement on Bieber. I think craniofacial growth is a likely mediator of scalp tension. We'd need to measure his zygomatic arch and jaw line according to the references I drew up...

Involvement Of Mechanical Stress In Androgenetic Alopecia | Von Mises 2d Analysis Models

Thanks for the link. It's a long time since I've read Rob's article(s) in detail. I'll read your article later. Here's the passage in which Rob acknowledges testosterone levels fall in older males: 'If Androgenetic Alopecia-prone hair follicles are genetically programmed to sensitize to and miniaturize in the...

Involvement Of Mechanical Stress In Androgenetic Alopecia | Von Mises 2d Analysis Models

Yes, I think so. Higher levels of DHT and PGD2. According to Rob's article, referenced earlier in this thread, restricted blood flow and higher concentrations of these bio-markers are an inflammatory response to mechanical stress...

What are your best theories on how to interrupt this loop? I know Segura suggested that botox may be an effective method in reducing mechanical stress: http://www.ijtrichology.com/article.asp?issn=0974-7753;year=2015;volume=7;issue=3;spage=95;epage=99;aulast=Tellez-Segura I believe Rob @...

Italian Hair Loss Lotion To Hit The Market In 2016

No. I hadn't read that Beps had clarified the 11% figure until I read Momogee's post above. Lol. This is a f*****g soap opera.
