Sorry for bringing back this thread, but I have just now come across it. No I don't think it's implausible. I just think that the statement regarding propecia's success is often misconstrued. The 83% number is often thrown around as a probability, more specifically that a male has an 83%...

I'm not entirely sure why this thread was brought back, but anyway... bible thumpers are no less vain than the rest of the world. Anyone who tells you they aren't vain is either a liar or mother theresa, and mother theresa's dead.

I don't know many people that are perfectly comfortable in social situations, aside from people that are generally stupid and thus oblivious to the concept of social anxiety (frat boys...). However, hair loss certainly exacerbates social anxiety for me, and I imagine it does for many others.
