The mistery of DUPA and the complete lack of information.

I’ve noticed that my grandfather on my dads side has what looks like DUPA/NW7, granted he’s 85, but after seeing his hair recently it looks like what I’ll be looking like eventually.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

I can say that almost every single time I have an itch anywhere on my scalp there’s a hair that comes out into my finger from said itch. It’s usually a weak looking hair. I use free and clear detergent, and have for a while. I do have these weird red patches on my scalp for a very long time...

Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

I generally don’t have an itch since being on ketoconazole. But something is happening once I lay my head down. Don’t really have any dandruff anymore. Sometimes I’ll feel an itch, go to scratch it and I’ll feel a little bump, and on my finger will be this little hard egg shaped thing, sometimes...

Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

I’ve been using ketoconazole for a year, finasteride for about 5 months, and oral minoxidil for about 4 months, but did topical minoxidil for a year. I’ve had this itch for a long time.

I have DUPA. It sucks. I wanna know if what I’m experiencing is specific to DUPA or not. Basically, any time my head touches something like the couch, or my pillow, my head gets itchy. It’s especially bad if I take a shower that day like early in the morning, then go to bed. It’s so itchy on...

You guys think you have it bad. I’m screwed.

I’ve been on .5mg of finasteride MWF for about 2.5 months, and 1.25mg of oral minoxidil for about 6 weeks. It’s too early to tell, but I do think it has thickened up about, just looks kind of darker on top.

I do plan of going on finasteride and oral min soon, assuming my Dr will prescribe them.

Because my top is going to be a Norwood 6/7 just like my twin brother is

Nothing yet. I see my PCP soon, gonna ask about it. Maybe start some meds, get blood work done, maybe a biopsy. Doubt I’ll ever get an answer though as to what caused this. Probably just got extremely unlucky with male pattern baldness and FPHL.

I don’t know much about hair systems, but what I’ve seen they look pretty decent. Something I might try eventually.

I don’t know why it would. It’s just a procedure my twin brother and I have in common. Maybe it’s affecting us some way or another, but I doubt it.

Barely there anymore, but it’s still visible.

My top started going in my 20’s, but wasn’t too noticeable until maybe around 30. The back and sides I just noticed last year. Could’ve been going on for a while and I never knew because I kept my hair long in a ponytail. I’m sure I’m destined to be a Norwood 7.

Diffuse unpatterned alopecia or DUPA,is it DHT driven?

One thing I know for certain, my head doesn’t really itch when I’m at work. Once I get home it starts to get itchy. The second I lay my head down on my pillow to sleep my head becomes so itchy, like a burning/stinging kind of itchy. How does one get a biopsy?
