I think it's recommended to use Nizoral only a few days a week primarily because using it more often can dry out your hair.
I would use it three times a week to start and see how it goes. If you can tolerate it, go to EOD then maybe daily.
I found that I could use the 1% OTC Nizoral 4 -...
The quote is from wikipedia, but if you do your research (google ketoconazole + hair loss/anti-androgen, etc...) you will find a lot of information on it.
I suggested Nizoral because it's what I started out with and way cheaper than Revita (Revita contains ketoconazole, among other things)...
The active ingredient in Nizoral is ketoconazole. Ketoconazole is an antifungal, BUT:
"The side-effects of ketoconazole are sometimes used to treat non-fungal problems. The decrease in testosterone caused by the drug makes it useful for treating prostate cancer and for preventing...
Yeah, I have never known anyone who had irreversible side effects from finasteride.
Truth is, if that was a widely understood malady, it simply wouldn't have lasted on the market for this long.
Very few users experience sides and those that do usually reverse on their own.
Overall, I...
Clinical study
Here is at least one clinical study:

If you google "nizoral + hair loss", you'll find lots of info.
It always makes me laugh when a doctor will make a definitive statement for which they have no basis to make.
After all, doctors are trained to think scientifically, right?
To speak to the question (and I will dig up the link) Nizoral 2% has been shown to have approximately the same...
With 70% hair in the crown I would definitely say it's not too late. Take a look at some of the before and afters on the medication.
As an aside, I don't know if you'd be "cool" with it or not, but a product like Toppik can help tremendously, especially if you have 70% of your hair left and...
Still, rogaine can be highly effective for some. I am currently using the 5% foam and have seen good results in the crown and even pretty darn good results in the temples (which I never had with the solution).
You can never disontinue propecia, either.
I do think you should start propecia...
BUT, doesn't this seem to suggest that the results were observed 8 weeks after the second treatment?:
In a randomized, double-blind Phase 2a clinical study, conducted in Germany, 50 men with androgenetic alopecia (Norwood/Hamilton grades III-IV) received once-daily topical treatments of...
I have read that most people use Nizoral (either the 1% or 2%) only a few times a week.
Is it counterproductive or harmful to use it more frequently? Or is it simply that most people can't use it more frequently due to irritation?
I am currently using 1% Nizoral 5 times a week and am not...
Someone help me understand the mechanism...
Okay, minoxidil is some kind of hair growth stimulant, but it doesn't (?) stop further hair loss, right?
Finasteride blocks DHT conversion and therefore, to a degree, stops further hair loss.
What is Neosil doing? Will it stop further...
Depends on the definition of "normal". I have OCD and I just can't help myself.
That actually sounds like a good idea if I could get good modulation on the volume dispensed. I am going to give that a try. Maybe we'll have to design an aftermarket applicator tip that would allow more...
Not that I saw. It says "half a capful", but I had been guessing at that amount by free dispensing in my hand. As it turned out, I was dispensing more than half a capful.
