I found this post on Reddit, from a student of the professor behind the Indian study that used Betadine prior to needling that seems to support this thought:

Here is a quote from that post:
Congratulations! (On both the fiancee and the twins!).
I fell off the microneedling wagon around when Covid hit. Looking back at my progress pics, I wish I hadn't quit... but life got weird and busy. That said, I look forward to starting up again as it was a real difference maker. It was easy...
I created this separate thread summarizing photo results... also including other sources like the tressless subreddit and also youtube:

That was current up to Page 391, back in 2019. I haven't been around...
666 pages! Damn. We all have our hair back? Some of you guys must have pony tails too by now? ;) Maybe it is time to update my old photo results thread.
I haven't been needling for over a year.. just been using Minoxidil. Probably lost a little ground, but am considering starting back up...
I have been crazy bush with work since about ~April... so haven't had time to follow the thread unfortunately. When I created this one and followed the large thread, I was in between work - so I made a job of this while I had the time :)
I was hoping someone else from the community would run...
I get busy with work for awhile and come back to what feels like frenchy spamming the thread again. Yeesh.
Either way - good to see some legit progress posted by a few members. I haven't needled much in the last month and a bit sadly, was sick and had to travel for work. Excited to get back...
@Mr.Sprinkles79 - That looks like some positive progress! You can see more color in the hairs on the top of your head. There is less vibrant white scalp shining through in your 3 month photos. Slight - but change in the right direction.
Very interesting experience with your scalp/galea...
@ghosthairkillah - Try adjusting the speed lower. I usually would do mine at the highest speed, but found during my last session that a notch down from the highest speed actually allowed me to move a bit easier without catching.
New results video from a guy (/u/medicineandsports) I posted previously about from reddit. Attributes a large amount of regrowth to his dermapen:

@Pigeon - Nope. I found this thread ~two weeks into using the prescription I built up the courage to obtain. After 1 month on fina, I decided to to try needling + minoxidil instead given the results people were seeing on here. I like the idea of that combination versus fina long term. So it...
I used Finasteride for 1 month @ a dose of 1mg every M/W/F. My hair is shedding minimally right now, not what I consider to be anything of concern (thinning/balding levels of shedding). It isn't entirely known yet if microneedling helps to stop shedding. Since it promotes blood-flow - it could...
