As the title suggests, does nicotine effect hair loss? i'm debating quitting nicotine, while at this time I don't think i'm losing my hair, I don't want it to be a problem in the future. I am genetically predisposed to hair loss.

You're going to need to post old pictures to compare. I've had telogen effluvium before, and it didn't come with much crown loss or frontal hairline loss. Check the sides of your hair, if your sides are as thin as the top it's probably Telogen Effluvium, if not it's male pattern baldness. I could be wrong...

Is there product in your hair in these pics? if you're using an oil based product using too much can cause it to look thin.

Update. Okay I feel stupid. My hair on the Top-back was parted because my barber left my crown long for my cowlick, I wasn't blowdrying it correctly. I have fine hair so my hair naturally has bigger parts. Complete false alarm, sorry for wasting your time. This was all my styling mistake.
