Mr. P's Story - (25/The Quest to Defeat male pattern baldness)

I got my thyroid tested about a five weeks ago and found out I'm slightly hypothyroid. I've been taking 100mg of Synthroid for about a month. I feel like I've been noticing the lack of density at my hairline more than usual lately. I don't know if it's in my head, so I took some pictures this...

Mr. P's Story - (25/The Quest to Defeat male pattern baldness)

I just got a new camera, so I thought I'd take a few snaps. I'm still on my regimen of minoxidil daily (I've gone back to doing it twice daily in 2012 after probably a year-plus of just doing it at night), 1.25 generic finasteride, anti-dandruff shampoo once a week (need to get back to nizoral). These...

    How reliable is Family history

None of my grandparents were bald or even thinning. Both grandfathers died with full heads of hair. My dad had thick, full hair until he got cancer. Doesn't seem to have helped my brother or me. I've still got good coverage, but my hairline is pretty weak. My brother has a better hairline, but...

Using minoxidil twice daily after year plus of using once a day

I've been using liquid minoxidil for a little over a year and a half. While I've gone through some periods of using it twice a day, I have mostly just done the nightly application. I have a little extra money these days, so I'm going to add Rogaine foam to the morning while doing the liquid...

    Applying Regaine foam.

I always rub the liquid in with my fingertips. I guess that combined with my longer hair on top means there's very little time needed for the liquid to dry.

Mr. P's Story - (25/The Quest to Defeat male pattern baldness)

Thanks, guys. :) I really appreciate feedback, good or bad, just because it can be tough to stay subjective about your own hair, even with pictures to look at. My regiment hasn't been a drain on my money or time, so I'll definitely keep with it.

Mr. P's Story - (25/The Quest to Defeat male pattern baldness)

And to clarify: Nizoral (Once a week): 14 months 1.25 Generic finasteride: 13 months Kirkland minoxidil (about 2 ML/day): 12 months I also take about 12 grams of fish oil a day, though that has less to do with hair and more for health. I'm probably going to try the foam pretty soon. I'm getting way too...

Mr. P's Story - (25/The Quest to Defeat male pattern baldness)

It's been a while, so I figured an update was an order. I've been plugging away with the Big 3 for more than a year. I haven't noticed anything remarkable in terms of regrowth. Given that the front of my hairline was the area most in need of regrowth, however, I guess I can't be all that...

    Peapoddy's Story - (25 : Just Starting Finasteride)

Holy carp, 3-4 ml? I've got fairly long hair on top and find even 2 ml is pushing the boundaries with regards to having that stuff drip off of my head. Do you just rub it in as you apply it or something? Also, have you been using that dosage for a while? I've just been doing a morning and night...

    Unscented Rogaine Foam is Here!!!

I've been using Kirkland minoxidil twice a day, but have wanted to try foam for nighttime use. The lack of an unscented version put me off, though. Anyone else here using both liquid minoxidil and foam?

You can get 30 Finasteride 5mg tablets for $9 at Walmart now

Great timing. I'm almost out of my batch of Fincar from overseas. I want peace of mind that what I'm taking is absolutely legit, so I scheduled an appointment to get a prescription for generic finasteride. Came on here to make sure I had the right name and I saw this thread. Got the prescription...

    Hair grow Accelerators..

Can we get an update here? I'm still skeptical.
  13. M

Regaine question i have been using it for over a year now.

Get on finasteride if you can. minoxidil helps regrowth, but not hair loss. It's possible you aren't seeing a difference because you're still losing hair as you normally would and minoxidil can't keep up with regrowth.
  14. M

    Quitting Minoxidil--am I stuck?

Are you also taking finasteride? If not, I'd be careful about getting off minoxidil. You could be in for a rude surprise.

Mr. P's Story - (25/The Quest to Defeat male pattern baldness)

And just so there's no need to reference the first page, here's more or less the same angle from April, May and today (July 15). Please note that the April one is with completely dry hair, while the May picture is post-minoxidil application and today's is with slightly damp hair. Looking at the...
