just noticed obvious success after 21 months

Five year update! Still on finasteride, hair around NW1. Funny how things change. I would now say I have a lot of hair for someone my age (35) ... More than any of my friends, more than almost anyone I meet who is my age. I never think about hairloss anymore. Good luck to you all.

Any point in taking dutasteride more than once a month?

Thanks Bryan. My question was prompted by thinking about going on dutasteride instead of finasteride. Do you see any "risk" of any kind with taking dutasteride right off the bat? (the alternative being going on finasteride first, then moving to dutasteride once finasteride becomes less noticeably effective).

Ok makes sense, I had the incorrect info :) Thanks!

Any point in taking dutasteride more than once a month?

No... what's confusing me (or perhaps I am right?) is that the data for avodart/dutasteride shows that it blocks a very large amount of DHT from the very first day on the drug. What is the half life of this first dose? My assumption is that the half life of the drug "is what it is", regardless...

Any point in taking dutasteride more than once a month?

Bryan, I wasn't thinking of taking 30 capsules once per month (were you joking?), but rather taking one capsule once per month. One capsule per week should really be fine doing this I'd imagine? Since the drug wouldn't really have degraded in the system significantly within only a week. It...

Any point in taking dutasteride more than once a month?

The half life of dutasteride is known to be around 5 weeks, so I'm wondering if there is any good reason to take one pill per day? Shouldn't the drug theoretically be just as effective by taking one dose once per month? It may be more convenient, and easier to remember, than taking a propecia...

    A result for fue naysayers

Here is a good example of what I'm talking about: http://www.liowallpapers.com/wallpapers ... 0Fox_9.jpg As can be clearly seen, when the hairline is this low naturally, the appearance is for the hair to grow quite horizontally, from the centre point to the temple point. In fact, as it...

    A result for fue naysayers

Actually I agree with many of the above comments that are saying this looks unnatural. This is a perfect example of why artistry is so, so important. This is what happens: First glance, it looks unnatural, but you can't figure out how or why. Then you start to convince yourself it must...

    BHT like normal hair?

Yes, it's certainly possible and I've seen it done (again by Dr Umar). Huge numbers of grafts. However you'd have to accept that it would be very difficult, probably actually impossible to make that quantity of body hair on the scalp look normal or undetectable. Realism is really everything in...

    BHT like normal hair?

Hi Petchsky - In sofarsogood's case I believe a mixture of thigh hair and lower leg hair was used to feather the hairline. Here is a link to the youtube video - it really is flawless work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNEZb42ZrYs

    BHT like normal hair?

Yes it is true that BHT won't grow too long, and will retain the characteristics it had at the donor site. A good reason not to use pubic hair, eh! Well, I've done an enormous amount of research on this... so listen up! BHT FOR REPAIR PATIENTS I have seen some incredible results using body...

just noticed obvious success after 21 months

Yes, regarding the minoxidil that is possible I suppose. At its worst, my diffuse thinning was visible no matter which way I combed my hair. It was never absolutely terrible, but bad enough. Nothing I could do would cover it. If I part my hair now, it's a fine line (normal), whereas before it was...

just noticed obvious success after 21 months

I agree, really silly to stop after 6 months. It has taken me nearly two years to finally be absolutely convinced by Propecia. Something else I didn't mention in my post above: for the first 12-16 months, I would say that each time I washed my hair in that period I lost 20-30 hairs, including...

Weak bladder side effect after 18 months...

I was looking back at some of my previous posts and came across this one. I thought I had updated this thread but obviously not... anyway just wanted to say that after reducing my dose of propecia to three times a week, the problem completely cleared up within two weeks. I then went back to...

just noticed obvious success after 21 months

31 years old now, first noticed hairloss about 3 years ago, can't remember... it was about six months before I joined this board. To begin with I just noticed hairloss on one temple, but when I mentioned this to others they seemed to think my only problem was diffuse thinning! (something I...
