I'm 21 and have been receding pretty slowly since I was about 18. male pattern baldness runs pretty extensively in my family and I'm pretty sure I'm in the same boat. I just got a longer buzz and wondering what my hairline is on the norwood scale? and if you saw me would you think I was receding or just a high hairline? thanks for your time.

That would be a Norwood 1.5. People wouldn't notce but IS just a matter of time. I am 18 my temples look the same. Keep the hair short so the thinner hairs at the temples arn't as noitceable, even though my hair is rather long. Getting on Finasteride or dutasteride is your only chance to hault the process.

99% of people in the real world would'nt notice anything. You still have nearly all your hair and you're using the a regime so I would'nt obsess about it.

my hairline is exactly like that.
I would say you are about NW2. your hairloss seems very agressive for your age. in my case, i had such a perfect hairline when i was younger, so with the same hairline as yours, people notice that i'm losing hair here and there.
the male pattern baldness is gonna get more aggressive as you get older. hurry up and do something about it. (if you are doing something already, keep a close eye on it.)

Might help if you pull your hair back... But it looks ok, might be a mature hair line.

Norwood 1.5? Don't mean to scare you but it looks like the temples are starting to recede, then the crown area will start to thin, followed by middle thinning to leave the little island at the front. Hopefully finasteride will halt that. It did for me for a couple years before I stopped taking it.

I see some definite recession and miniaturization. Stay on your regimen if your hair means anything to you ;)

thanks for the replies, I appreciate it. I believe my right temple is just about a NW2 and my left is 1.5, hopefully finasteride will get me to a solid 1.5.

Yeah. Always remember topical minoxidil and spironolactone is also options to be added in addition to what you are currently using. I would - if I was you - educate myself about them in case I need to use them further down the road :). Your current regimen should do it's thing though. But the hairline can be a bastard to keep and spironolactone might be needed.
