Young And Going Bald Is Not An Option. Advice Needed

Hello All,

I am a young 22 year old currently battling hair loss. Going bald is not an option for me and I am willing to spend the time and money to fight this! Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I first started to notice my temples receding around 2 years ago and immediately started a strict regimen of twice daily topical minoxidil and nizoral shampoo weekly. I think this has helped and my hair loss with my given hairstyle is relatively unnoticeable still. That being said the slow creep backwards does not seem to be stopping and I know that I will need more options later on.

I am completely willing and able to afford multiple hair transplants in the future but I DO not want to go through a stage of having to get "bald" enough to have one done which seems to be what I am reading.

One thing I am not willing to go on is any sort of finasteride! I have read too many horror stories.

What things can I do now to help??

Thanks,

Cameron

Attached is my current hairline.

I agree, but I know it will get worse. I am all about being proactive with this as that is my best chance for success. If my hair were to stay like this great but it wont :(

Your only option is finasteride. If you don't want to take it then just take your chances and live with hair loss.

Newfag alert

But seriously let's see your options. First of all hair transplants are not for young people as you may keep losing hair (the ones that were already on top). The older you are the more likely it is your hair loss will slow down. It might be an option for you in the future but the more hair you lose, the lower your standards should be as far as the results go. Also, transplants can only reach so much density (60 hairs /cm^2 I think? Rather sparse) and most doctors I think will reccommend that you start finasteride after a transplant.
Right now you have 4 options.
1. Go on finasteride/dutasteride/RU
2. Wait until it's time to shave (depends on your standards and hair loss obviously)
3. Get a hair system when it becomes really bad
4. Sport the balding look

Personally I'm just biding my time. I'll shave it when it gets worse and I've come to terms with it. Or get a hair system - they're kinda expensive but can look pretty great watch youtube vids
Thankfully things in hair cloning/cell therapies look promising and we're still 22.
What I mean to say is if you don't get on one of those 3 meds (which can give side effects of course), prepare yourself mentally to lose it. 2 years or 20 years from now, who knows.
Look up Tsuji and Tissuse in the new research forum if it will make you feel better

Definitely a new-f** here. This was my first post.

Does anyone have a link to a comprehensive finasteride/dutasteride/RU article. How many people actually experience symptoms?

I would consider a system but I would want to get one fairly soon from now, I dont want to even go through this transition phase if possible. Do they offer ones like that?

To answer your question, I don't know. I basically started as soon as I noticed anything so after two years and it looking like this I'd say probably.

Here's the Harvard Study which came out last year https://academic.oup.com/jcem/artic...Who-Report-Persistent?redirectedFrom=fulltext

Is is just me or has finasteride fear been unusually high on the boards the last month or so?

Hey @Admin , what happened to that thread that was stickied on the old forum format where some dude gave a really in depth breakdown of the big 3 including what the actual probability of finasteride sides is? I know that thread was super informative and helpful to me when I was trying to figure out what the hell to do...any chance we could pull it out and resticky it?

the biggest issue nowadays believe it or not is psychological induced by our beliefs.

A lot of these mooks convince themselves of problems through awareness, irrational fears and the possibility. This often leads to ED, but is not a direct result of pharmacological action of the actual drug.

Oh I agree. That being said I did have around a year where I suffered from performance anxiety and the head game is very important. I know for me personally if I do start having issues again I will blame it whether its too blame or not.

What are your guys thoughts on taking something that impacts your hormones so young. My beard hasn't even grown in fully yet haha

Like I said psychological induced ED from pre-existing conditions, but has nothing to do with the drug itself.

take a xanax, swallow your finasteride and live a fulfilling life.

Either that or go bald, and jerk off with your tears every night.

Psychological forum induced side effects

the new finasteride epidemic.

Cameron, pay attention to this. We have dudes here who have taken THREE finasteride pills and now want PENILE TRANSPLANTS. Are you sure you want the horror stories as your main source?

You can start with ultra-microdoses, then progress to micro doses, then low doses...who knows what your response will be like? You might end taking standard doses without any problem. Gotta try it. That's the only way to assure you'll glide smoothly into the Finn life. Search for your sweet spot.

Don't listen to the Frankenstein dick guys.

Compare studies with the f*****g fear mongering on the forums and you will be surprised. That's what I did and I'm glad because I'm 3 months on Finasteride now and believe it or not I don't have sides and no my dick didn't fall off.

Do you know those below-username ''badges'' that some forums use? A service of great public utility here would be to identify the hardcore fear mongers! :p:rolleyes:
