Yeast and Nizoral

Hi

I originally got Nizoral 2% for yeast on my scalp. I used it, and it went away (~a month ago). Now the yeast is back - have anybody else experienced this?

Should I keep using Nizoral or go to the doctor?

Were you on the prescription strength because a doctor did a biopsy and determined yeast overgrowth? If so then in the mean time yeah it would be a good idea to go back on it. If you have a doctors appointment coming up then it would also be a good idea to mention this to him. Recurrent yeast can simply mean you had a hardy strain of yeast that is difficult to completely get in check with medicine, or it could mean something more serious like a warning sign of metabolic syndrome, thyroid and hormone problems, or a compromised immune system.

After going to my doctor in the first place, he just told me that it looks like yeast, and that I should try Nizoral 2% (prescription), nothing further. But I will contact him just so he can check it more thorough.
