Wow the libido hit from finasteride is really terrible + minoxidil question

I feel so good now, that I was in doubt whether to retain my hair or my all new powerful libido.
But I can see the shedding happening, there's no way other than going back to finasteride

I'm planning to lower my dosage considerably to test if the side effects diminish.
And I'm thinking about adding minoxidil. Is it worth it? Will my hair become "dependent" on it?

I have seen many cases where people have noticed only after being off finasteride there libido was much lower. I mean do you value your libido over your hair? That's what it all comes down to. What dosage are you on anyway, even with as low as 0.25 finasteride you may be able to delay/slow down your hair loss, that's something to think about. I would strongly reccommend not going on minoxidil if you are are uncertain about continuing it, I mean who knows you might never find the dosage you want.

How long have you been off of it? Many report a "SURGE OF DHT" after they stop dosing with finasteride which makes the feel vigorous, lively, and as horny as a teenager. This effect is a feedback loop and tends to subside after a while and you return to normal. Think critically, did you really want to have sex more often before you took finasteride than when you were on it? Think about # of times you had sex/masturbated, not how you felt.

I value both, wouldn't know which one I prefer though. I was taking 1mg every other 1 day or 2 days, now I'm planning to try 0,25mg every day.

I've been off for more than a month, so things now seem stable. I noticed a big drop of DHT for 1 week after I stopped.. could hardly have an erection, felt numb, no ejaculation, it was quite scary.
Funny 'cause the first time I stopped it (last year), the total opposite happened to me, I had this surge of DHT, and for 1 week felt as horny as a teenager, as you said. This thing really messes up the hormones. I wonder if this intermittent usage has any negative effects on the body?

When I was on it, I hardly had morning boners, or any unconscious erection during the day, so it's hard to say my sex drive was intact. I still wanted to have sex/masturbate though, but not as often as now.

At my best, whilst on finasteride, I can go a couple times in a day. The desire to have sex is there, it's just there's occasions where it feels like junior just doesn't want to wake up and go to work. It's weird, that first time in a day is usually less enjoyable and erection quality is less. However, all subsequent times that day are usually more enjoyable for some reason. I can't explain it even a little bit. The tumescence has yet to reach 100% like my pre-finasteride days, but I can live with it around 85% where it is now. I'm just foolishly holding out hope that there will be a better option within the next 10 years because I cannot do this big 3 shenanigans day in and day out for the rest of my life.
