Hello
I must say I have been much more of a reader than a poster om this site. But I can't thank this site or the people sharing the info enough. After a long time researching I decided I was ready for surgery. I set up a consultation with Dr. Victor Hasson, as he was my first choice in doctors. I decided on Dr Hasson even before I knew where his office was located. And through shear luck I only live 30 minutes away, when I really thought I would have to fly to meet him.
Anyway the consultation went great and I felt him and his staff were genuine and exceptional. When I left my consultation Thursday I was very emotional and broke down, it was such a hard reality. But Hasson and Wong made it a comfortable as it could be. I told Dr. Hasson that I was sure I wanted to do the surgery and I was more than confident in his work. But I had to confirm things with my family before I made my final decision and financial commitment. The one downside was he does have a long wait list and no slots where available for several months. I told Dr. Hasson that if I did decide to go through with this I wanted to be also put on a stand by list, just in case someone cancels I am in the unique situation of being local and flexible that I could come in (although he told me that very rarely happens). I told them I will confirm with him my final decision next week if I am going to do the surgery
Over the weekend after a lot of thinking and soul searching, I decided with my families support that I was going to do the surgery and I was going to book an appointment first thing Monday morning. I went to bed Sunday night and oddly enough woke up in a panic at about 3am thinking I had no Bandannas and very few hats to wear just in case of the remote chance I could get a in on a cancellation over the next couple months rather than waiting until April or May. So at 3am I went online shopping and ordered a bunch of Bandannas and Hats to be overnight delivered to my house. Then I set my alarm on my cell phone to wake me up first thing so I could call the clinic of Hasson and Wong.
Well on Monday morning my phone alarm rings or so I thought, it was actually a phone call instead. It was a call from Hasson and Wong saying they had a cancellation and I could get in that day if I could make it soon.
Well to try and make the rest of the story shorter I am now sitting here with 5008 grafts from the middle of my head to my hairline. I was extremely lucky with my donor area was able to easily do a substantial surgery and even more surgeries if needed (which I doubt will be).
Let me finish by saying I can't pay Dr. Hasson enough compliments as he thoroughly deserves his stellar reputation. The hairline he designed for me was far better than even expected. He and his staff were phenomenal and I truly felt that they were genuinely caring people that take pride in their work, furthermore they are extremely professional and personable. I couldn't be happier with experience thus far and I felt special, even though I am sure they make every patient feel this way.
I guess the true test is what my hair is going to look a year from now, but I am more than confident it will be great.
I apologize for writing such a long story, I just really felt like I needed to share and thank the members of this forum. You guys help cut through all the propaganda on the internet and I wouldn't be sitting here smiling if it weren't for you guys. So I sincerely thank you.
P.S If people are interested in Dr. Hasson work or just how my hairline looks etc.. I am willing to post pics of my progress.
