Would you tell someone to get on Propecia?

Would you feel out of place telling a friend to try finasteride and min?

Here's my thoughts.
I have a friend who is 5 years older than me. Ive known him since he was 23 (Im 23 now) and back then his hair was looking really thin but I didn't notice because I didn't care about hair loss back then. Only in the last 2 months have I learnt about treatment etc.
His hair is a lot worse now but from what I've seen on the forum I think he could still save it.
I can't imagine he doesn't care that his hair is thinning out but I'd feel a bit weird saying to him that he can actually do something about it. Knowing him Im pretty sure he has done no research into hair loss and would know nothing about treatments.
It would be awesome to help him out but I dont want to bring it up with him and offend him or something... you know.

So if you were me what would you do?

I probably would but I would not be direct about it. I'd try and somehow mention someone else that was on treatments, i.e maybe someone famous then carefully be like; 'so have you ever thought about trying them?' Try and make it as less serious and light hearted as you can but meh that's just me.

Depends if it's a close friend or not. Maybe you could bring up your hair loss and when he talks about his, talk to him about treatments, but it can be seen as quite rude to bring up his hair loss directly !

You should definitely tell him about hair loss treatments if this is a close friend, if not then you probably shouldn't. I don't think you should tell him "hey I see your hair's looking pretty bad, you should probably get on some hair loss treatments" though... I don't know if you are on treatment yourself or thinking about it, but you could try bringing up your own (future) treatment plan for your hair loss (I take it you have some since you are on a hair loss forum) and let him decide if he wants to look into it or not.

Tell him. No need to be subtle about it. Wouldn't you respect it and be happy if someone told you? Especially if you would hear about mino and fina for the first time. Just go to the guy. Tell him you are struggling with hair loss and you notice he is having similar problems and ask if he thought about a way to fight it, or if he doesn't really care. Of course it might be awkward if he has been on finasteride for years and it just doesn't help for him, but even then he will be able to respect your motives. Do tell him about possible side-effects, would be painful if he gets them and you never told him about it.

sometimes I see people around campus with the very early stages of balding, and I am sure the people around them and even they themselves don't see it. Like a minor thinning at the crown, and I just imagine if it was socially acceptable to walk up to random people and tell them to start finasteride

I started a thread like this one on another hair loss forum. I was asking if I should talk to a coworker about his hair loss. Most said no. After thinking about it I agreed and left it alone.

Co-worker is different. Just say I'm thinking of starting propecia for my dam hair loss. Have you tried it and had any luck with it? Check out these results. Show him Bernstein medicals site of before and after pictures.
