Radiant Research is conducting trials in my area. Question is would you participate in the trials if given the chance? I am assuming I would have to give up Rogaine foam if I particpated and scared of the loss I might incur by going off minoxidil. Also any idea how risky this procedure would be. I hate the thought of being a guinea pig.

I think most people probably will. There is probably some safety studies already? You should really ask about minoxidil and stuff and make sure about things this might be a really good opportunity.

If you arn't on finasteride or dutasteride as it is, minoxidil alone is pretty much a lost cause. Go for it.

I don't think I would qualify based on the fact that I am currently using minoxidil and the fact that I mainly have thinning of the crown instead of a large bald spot. It seems like they want someone who is currently using no treaments and has a nice slick bald spot to test on. I think you have to be off all treatments for at least 6 months before you are considered a canidate.

Unfortunately, I already did the prescreening interview and told them the truth. I would feel bad about lieing, bad karma might come back and kill my hair or something :) Plus I think the main deterent would be the fact that I'm not a high enough norwood. They ask alot a questions about crown/vertex balding and I don't think I'm quite there yet but we shall see. Although to be honest I'm less than thrilled with the notion of cutting out a 1cm strip for cloning. Plus if I have to come off minoxidil I fear a huge shed.

:dunno: Why are you only using minoxidil? Don't you care about your hair?

If you really want to keep your hair, why would you take the risk of going off treatments and being given a placebo?

I could see someone participating if they refuse to any other available treatments though.

Yeah I don't think i want to give up minoxidil and just can't justify finasteride. I care about hair but not at the risk of my health.

it is good that they are asking for a high norwood...it looks like they want to fix it begening with the worst situation norwood 5-6 and just not trying to make a little dense a diffuse thinner or a norwood 2-3!
